Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Wow! I started reading this thread Saturday, and I read some more on Tuesday. Finally, I just started reading the posts from just Wednesday on late Wednesday night. Needless to say, with all the new posts, it has taken forever for me to get caught up. It looks like some of you have been having some fun recently.

I feel bad that many of these people had to be banned as some of their join dates were 9 years or so ago. I’ve only been here a few months, but I was on the Stop Rudy list so I saw some of what was going on. I guess I was dissapointed before this thread because some people seemed as liberal as the DemoncRats that I know. I questioned whether it would even be worth staying if was going to be arguing with liberals all the time. It looks like Jim really cleaned house. I think this place may be stronger in the end as more solid conservatives will sign up. I know the atmosphere seems more friendly.

Aloha Ladie's!

As the posts have run over 10,000 and I'm not about to read 'em all, please do me a favor and explain why Giulilani is the target of denigration from a middle of America view.

First things first....
Giuliani is a leader.
Giuliani is proved as tough on crime.
Giuliani really is a pretty decent man.

This doesn't present an endorsement for Rudy. Personally, I don't think he'll get the nod. His public theatrical antics while made in fun in NYC have stained him nationally. His stance on gun control is grounded in controlling crime in NYC.....and separated from the national, Second Amendment right to bear arms.

If it finally comes to a choice between Hillary and Rudy Rudy is a New Yorker. He was the Mayor of New York when times were really tough.....before and after September 11th. Rudy walked the walk. This to his credit.

While I don't think he will be nominated, I just don't like him smeared by our side.

Primaries matter too. Should it come to Hillary vs Rudy, where would you go?

> Do you really expect me to do that?

The simple answer is NO. But your network here has fostered a go along to get along mentality. We voted for Bush because it meant the (r) would win. What ever the (r) wants it gets. Did we know Bush would be so weak, no. Do we know that Romney will be as good as Reagan? No. We will make our decisions as time goes by. Everyone needs to relax on the candidates for now, we have plenty of time to decide. 18 months out is a long time. Relax, time will tell.

As far as your issues. Abortionism: on the right track, ulimately a states issue. Feminism: Not sure what you mean, but remember the suffrage act? Homosexualism: All men are created equal? Global Warming: pseudo science. Illegal alien lawbreakers: The fewer the merrier, a true federal issue that can be solved with a powerful president. Gun control: Headed in the right direction, actually a states issue.

I point out these issues to you because we don't agree 100% lock step. And that is why we are a great nation. And a great party. If you look at the democrat party candidates they are 100% pro abortion. No exceptions, tolorated. You must be pro abortion to be elected in thier party. You can be christian but not pro life. How they sleep at night is another question.

On the other hand, I know that I can debate Jim Robinson of the right wing conservative web site freerepublic.com and not be banned/shunned/when we disagree. Ask Sen. Leiberman how democrats deal will malecontents.

I’m cheering my ass of to stop Rudy and doing my own things while not here to accomplish the same.

I just want to express that I’m seeing other candidates getting ripped and some similar tactics used by names I won’t mention, but am surprised to see. Until I see Jim Robinson but another Candidates name in a thread that he desires to see out of the primaries then I will work on the premace that all other candidates are “in the clear” and debate to be encouraged and civil.

>>>>>Giuliani really is a pretty decent man.

BS!

Rudy is an abortionist. That one issue makes him an evil man and a horrible human being. The major goals of this forum is to advance conservatism, promote conservative candidates and defend then Constitution. FR opposes all forms of liberalism. FR doesn't exist as a liberal debate society either. To that end, we will be working hard at taking down the candidacy of Rudy the liberal.

Now read this wonderful thread posted by the owner of Free Republic and get educated on the subject matter of liberalism versus conservatism. Just remember the mission of FR as posted on our homepage.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

I agree with a lot of what you say but:

Gun control: Headed in the right direction, actually a states issue.

Sorry to shout, but THAT'S WHY WE HAVE THE 2ND AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION; the states have NO rights. In truth, neither does the Fed, without Constitutional amendment.

..the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I’ve been working since last weekend and couldn’t join the fun. Then my computer crashed and we just got back on. I have no idea how many or who is the latest to go, but I was getting real tired of the constant arguments with liberals, and I’m a “class of 98” guy, here. So it isn’t because you are more recent.

I’ve been arguing with the same bunch throughout the years. It amazes me that so many establishment Republicans joined a conservative website.

My count so far has been 43 give a few perhaps. There are lists posted back in the thread farther. I can’t blame you if you don’t want to go searching, though. You’d have to scan through 500 or so posts to find the list. ;)

After signing up, I was surprised at some of the liberal posts on a conservative forum, but some of the posters that seemed liberal to me have since been banned.

As far as Republicans, I guess they joined because conservatives usually vote Republican. As a conservative, I’d never vote DemoncRat. But, conservative and Republican aren’t fully joined at the hip. The Republican Party seems willing to go whereever the wind blows to win. That’s the impression I get with Rooty. Conservatives will put principle over party and vote for the true conservative.

We voted for Bush in 2004 primarily for the judges and the war. And the fact that even though he’s a compassionate conservative, he is pro-life, pro-family, pro-God (freedom of religion), pro-gun, pro-limited taxes.

Look up NOW (National Organization of Women) for a look at radical feminism and what they stand for. Totally opposite to conservatism. All men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including the right to Life and Liberty. Abortion, gay marriage, the gay agenda, gun control, etc, are completely incompatible with the concept of the “Creator” (God), equality, and “unalienable rights,” ie, you can’t take them away. All men are to be treated equally under the law. Gays already have the same rights as everyone else. No special interest group is to receive special treatment under the law. Also, the gay agenda includes “thought crimes.” If a preacher speaks out against homosexualism as a sin he can be brought up on charges. That’s nonsense. It’s also a violation of our first amendment rights to free speech, free religion. Again, “unalienable” rights. They’ll be targeting the Holy Bible and all of our religious rights next. Also, they want to teach our young children about homosexualism, fisting, etc, etc. That’s incompatible with our traditional family values. Giuliani is an abortionist gay rights activist. No way is he or will he ever be acceptable to pro-life pro-family conservatives. If does become acceptable, the the aforementioned conservatives are betraying their own principles for political expediency (not a conservative action). Giuliani is a gun grabber and illegal alien supporter. Again, totally unacceptable to conservatives. He’s disqualified from any consideration whatsoever by conservatives.

You’re not going to be “debating” with me long on FR if you’re pushing to deny me of ANY of my rights. They’re not up for debate, negotiation, or compromise.
