Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Why the Pledge of Allegiance Matters—Speech by Tom McClintock

There is a reason behind the movement to strike the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance—and from our national customs, and our currency, and our public ceremonies. It has very little to do with atheism. It has a great deal to do with authoritarianism. The philosophy of the American Founding is unique among the nations of the world because of a bedrock principle that was given expression with words in the Declaration of Independence that are old and familiar, and yet not often pondered these days...

“I think Hillary as President is the factor that has this entire thread debating... not Rudy Giuliani. The fear of her becoming president runs deep.”

In the 13,277 posts I’ve read so far, I didn’t even get the slightest hint of that feeling, and I have a good sniffer.

I’m currently supporting Duncan Hunter, but I like Fred Thompson as well if he decides to join the race. I just can’t support Guiliani because he is very similar to the Democrats in most of his positions, especially socially. I think he would be very dangerous because if he got in, he would ultimately be in charge of the Republican Party, and he would swing it left. That would leave social conservatives like myself in the dust as there would be two parties left of the center. Eight years of Guiliani would destroy conservativism, and social conservatives would be forced to start a third political party.

As far as the judges, the information has been posted on FR on various Guiliani threads over time. I will ping Spiff and see if he can track it down. I believe it was him that was posting it.

Spiff, do you have the list of judges that Guiliani appointed in NY and their political party affiliation?

So, just because someone posts here, doesn't mean they knew the dynamics behind the scene - until now.

That is true.
Someone should write a book.

Authoritarianism is the key.

If we want to keep our liberty, we have to stay on top of the thousand little ways they are trying to steal it from us, and substitute decadent pleasures to keep us entertained and not caring. Much like in Brave New World.

Of course it's not acceptable...the analogy used...and if you took the trouble to backtrack 100 posts you'll see me state so.

I think Howlin simply got caught up in the moment when she wrote that post. It's pure Howlin.

“What finally happened to get Howlin banned? I just noticed it myself. I notice that Hildy the abortion pusher is still around.”

I have no idea about Howlin. Didn’t know that Hildy was back either. I don’t think she was banned, she asked to have her account closed. Maybe she begged for forgiveness and JR let her back in.

>>>>>It's also been a loss to the Free Republic community at large. I mourn their loss, especially those conservatives that left in protest.

Like so many others, you're under some illusion. If someone wants to promote liberalism and oppose conservatism, then FR is not for them. If you read back through this thread, you'll see exactly what FR is all about.

>>>>>Perhaps I'm a kamikazi, too.....

Keep pushing the envelope, anything is possible.

Jim denied Hildy’s opus and left her account open to irritate her, she hasn’t been back.

"Howlin made a post on FR saying that conservatives have their 'foot on the throat of Republicans.” Is THAT acceptable to you?'"

Is conservative vs. conservative infighting acceptable?

This isn't just conservatism vs. Rudy supporters. This conflagration has gone well beyond that, sadly. I only hope we apply the same energies to actually defeating the Dems and combating Islamofascism that we have in pushing away so many fellow FReepers...
