Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Let’s see, and why was it necessary to call me a RINO?

I've never understood the RINO label. In actuality, the Republican party is a centrist party that incorporates libertarians, fiscal and social conservatives.

TRUE conservatives, to which this forum caters, are in fact 'Republicans in Name Only' if they happen to cross the line and vote R in order to stave off allowing a Dem to win a particular election. If they stick to their principles, then they are Conservatives.

Policies for which one can be labeled a RINO at FR represent the baseline platform of the Republican party.

When did you go over to the dark side?

I didn't. I find nothing dark about defending three ladies, whom I have often disagreed and argued with.

I'm curious, have you ever read these books? ---

My pecking order (among truly viable candidates, which leaves out Tancredo, Hunter, Newt, and Brownback) is:

Hunter showed third in yesterday's South Carolina straw polls. Even when the top two changed to one of three different people, Hunter was still always third. It may be early to completely dismiss him.

I’m not keen on Mitt either—and Fred carried major water for McCain-Feingold—which one of Hillary’s guns to the GOP head!

So far, Duncan Hunter has my *primary* vote and campaigning efforts.

But that said, POTUS is NOT the only election that matters. School boards determine textbook content. State legislators write state laws and the 10th Amendment has not been repealed, only ignored.

Are you posting from RNC headquarters? Just curious.

Moral character is what makes men great

"In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate, look to his character. The scriptures teach that rulers should be men who rule in the fear of God, able men, men of truth, hating covetousness. It is to the neglect of this rule that we must ascribe the multified frauds, breaches of trust, and embezzlement of public property which tarnish the character of our country and disgrace government. When a citizen gives his vote to a man of known immorality, he abuses his civic responsibility, he sacrifices not only his interest, but that of his neighbor; he betrays the interest of his country."

Noah Webster, 1823

Anyone who can support legalized infanticide (aka partial birth abortion), and Giuliani admits that he does, is so deficient in moral character that he or she should never be allowed to hold any position of authority over America or the American people.

HERE is what Rudy has to say to Tim Russert regarding infanticide.

I have already said I would vote for anyone who wins the nomination. I will even vote for Tancredo or McCain, as I think any Republican is better than any democrat. For one thing, our side has a better chance of nominating someone conservative in cabinet positions and judgeships; the democrats will do everything they can to nominate the opposite.

I will vote for Rudy or Hunter if they win the nomination. I am all about keeping democrats OUT of the whiteHouse.

Well, step number one will be building a database of his quotes, speeches, transcripts, video clips, etc. We’re looking for the words straight out of the horse’s mouth (so to speak). Next will be a database of his actual deeds and record throughout his public life. And while doing this we’ll be cataloging and indexing all the news articles we can find that document his liberalness, corruption, and unconstitutional abuses.

I don't claim to have it all, or even in good order yet, but click on my name and look at my profile. Quite a collection. I've tried to collect what I can from FR threads and other sources. Pissant, Liz, TitansAFC, Ultra Sonic 007 and others have been instrumental in digging up Giuliani's history and finding all kinds of damning stuff on the web. Also, we've been trying to categorize most of this stuff using the "stoprudy2008" keyword. Now, some moderators have been stripping that keyword off, but it is still intact on many useful threads.

So, we need to get it all collected, cataloged, searchable, and usable. I suggest that we create a Wiki. That's the format for this kind of stuff on the Internet that has emerged as the best way of collecting and presenting it.

You and I have the same list, except mine has Ted Nugent in second...

For me, Winning the War is the #1 issue, the Economy is a close #2, and #3 is Judge appointments.

Thompson is the best on all three. He need to run.

I don't know about you but I am sick of the vitriolic name calling, conservatives sliming other conservatives and the outright lies that are being spewed on this forum. You won't have to ban me, because I am banning YOU!!!!!

Free Republic is no longer an enjoyable place to spend a couple hours a day. It's a HATE ZONE, and one of the worst I've ever had the misfortune of donating my hard earned dollars to. Enjoy it, Mr. Robinson, because it's the last you will ever get from me. I was taught that to love Jesus is to love one another and to be tolerant of each other and to try to understand another's view point without being judgmental. I have tried to debate issues in a civil manner but have been bombarded with hatred and namecalling. No Thanks. This is still America and we are still free to THINK and to vote for the candidate of our choice without being called Liberals, Socialists, Abortionist Pigs, Asswipes, and other demeaning names.

I was not completely sold on Rudy until some of the slime here started hitting the fan. To think that some here would actually vote for Hillary over a Republican is mind boggling. And you call yourselves CONSERVATIVES! You are nothing but brown nosing HYPOCRITES who have to have a dictatorial leader tell you how to vote. Well, I FOLLOW no one. I am a free thinking, intelligent CONSERVATIVE American and a Republican who will vote for who ever gets my party's nomination for President. I will also continue to support Rudy Giuliani and have ordered my Bumper Stickers and Lawn Signs after reading some of the garbage posted here.

All I can say is you have my deepest sympathies. You are brainwashed haters who have no tolerance for anyone outside your little fascist circle. After the bad taste leaves my mouth, I will pray for all of you.

Rudy is a NE liberal and that is a fact. Why would anyone on this site support one?

Indeed. And why would any moral, conservative American vote for a candidate whose supporters sneer at "social conservatism?" They simply would not.

Some of these self-styled "real world Republicans" need to get a clue about their own elitism and learn what America is about... from real Americans.

"You mean that opening her mouth and inserting a shotgun was not a very good opus?"

An Opus is so boring and sometimes they come back.

Sadly, "FReepercide" always gets the desired effect.

I predict that if Fred Thompson runs, he’ll end up on Rudy’s ticket.

I think someone should ask Fred this question: "If Rudy Giuliani is the Republican nominee, will you support him?" If his answer is anything but "NO," he should immediately be disqualified for any consideration as a candidate. Same goes for the rest of the field.

Great post here with being a decent mature adult the operative phrase.

I guess I am far different from some here since I have taken an oath, as a member of our counties Republican Executive Committee, not to support Dems and help only Republicans win elections.

In our particular county we also encourage conservative candidates whenever possible with every resource we have at our disposal. Personally I would like to see Fred Thompson as our nominee and absent Thompson I think Duncan Hunter would be an excellent choice as well.

However I don not plan to engage in any "swiftboating" of any of our potential candidates as that would be breaking an oath I swore to and I urge others to think twice before they provide potentially very useful info to the Democratic Party should certain candidates they try and "swiftboat" become actual nominees.

As far as the dems are concerned they are a lot like the terrorists, they love using our own words against us. I do not plan to engage in any of that. The rest of you can do as you please.

Not much different than the women who worship at the feet of Bill Clinton! Hard to figure out! But then, understanding women has never been my strong suit!lol!!
