Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Oh, shut up.

There are plenty of male Giuliani sycophants, and Fred Thompson has many ladies supporting him.

I am more conservative than most of the men in my family, and I am FAR more critical of leftists.

I think FR needs a virtual graveyard for all the ZOTees

That is an EXCELLENT idea, not just for the amusement value, but for future reference as well, when trolls yet to arrive on FR sound suspiciously like one of the dearly departed, it would help in pest identification prior to ZOTing.

Fortunately, I caught a tech news item just this past Friday on the new Hitachi Deskstar 7K 1000 hard drive, ONE TERABYTE (1000 gigabytes), I think FR just might be needing one, maybe more.

At approximately $400 a pop, they're not too terribly expensive.

I hope they’ll be back. They’ve been around FR for so long and for one night of unrestrained name calling to get banned forever... It’s not my house and perhaps there is something going on under the radar.

Anyway, I hope they’ll be back.

What We Believe

Inalienable Rights: We believe that man’s “rights” flow from the Creator and the rights of life, liberty, and justice cannot be legitimately granted or rescinded by men.

Judeo-Christian Foundation: We believe in the guiding force of moral law as expressed by the Judeo- Christian ethic and contained in the Holy Scriptures of these historic faiths.

Self-Government: We believe that the only answer to the current moral decline that our nation now faces is a return to the beliefs and standards of morality which our founding fathers placed into the Constitution. We believe with the framers of that document when President Adams stated, “This Constitution will not work except with a religious people.” We understand that the concept of self-government begins with governing one’s self first, then family, community, state, and nation.

Education: We believe in the rights of parents to a quality education for their children. We support parental choice to create competition among the schools. We must insure that no school or teachers union can compromise the education of our children or advance a particular political agenda at the expense of our future generation’s educations.

Taxes: We believe that the federal tax system is abusive to the American people while discouraging investment and growth. We believe in growth-oriented tax policies which would gradually eliminate punitive income taxes and move our tax system in the direction of use taxes and sales taxes only.

Free Enterprise: We believe in the free enterprise system as the best hope for men and women to fulfill their economic hopes and dreams. We know that the free market is the most efficient and the least costly system to deliver the highest quality goods and services at the lowest price to the consumer. We will support only those who support the free enterprise system through legislation to reduce or eliminate intrusive government intervention in the marketplace.

Family: We believe that the traditional American family, defined as any persons related by blood, marriage of a man and a woman and/or adoption, is the cornerstone of our American society, and the government is duty bound to protect the integrity of the family unit through legislation and taxation policies.

Sanctity of Life: We believe that the preborn child is a human being deserving the full protection of the law.

National Defense: We believe in a strong and consistent national defense. We believe in victory over, and not accommodation with, tyranny in any form or philosophy.

Right to Bear Arms: We believe in the unqualified right of our citizens to keep and bear arms without the intrusive hand of government.

Victims’ Rights: We believe in the concept of victims’ rights over the rights of any criminal. We support a system of restitution as a deterrent to crime and recidivism.

Term Limitation: We believe that public service is a privilege. We support term limits for public officials, not as an ideal but as a necessity to dissuade career politicians. It is the people who should rule, not an elite with little accountability.

National Sovereignty: We believe in an America first program in which Government’s first concern is the welfare and protection of the American people. We do not believe in trade protectionism but support political leaders who will adopt policies that create fair and competitive trade.

Decentralized Government: We believe in the power of the individual over the power of the state. We believe that only small government truly serves the needs of the people.

Hey, you thought I was going to crack wise, and I already answered with a serious technical post! (#3424)

In the graphics department I'm going to be working overtime, I had no idea that I was going to end up being the unofficial FR Undertaker for RINO-scum, trolls, RudyBots and other undesirables.

This is getting to be WORK! LOL

Oh, Chuckie boy, you are so wrong about Catholic women. There are many many many Catholic women who are true conservatives and who vote conservative.

Your comment has several of us up in arms. I suggest you go to the Religion Forum to check on a few Catholic women — then look them up in the postings that they do.

You will see that many — if not all — post conservative items. FYI, I am going to post another list of Natural Family Planning links. Please educate yourself!

I was only a kid in 1973. I can’t understand how God fearing Americans let the SCOTUS get away with some of their rulings. Why was there not a bigger fight over issues like this one and the freedom to pray in schools? My generation was brainwashed through our education system that it was some kind of victory for women. I now see that just because some judges with an agenda ruled it civilly legal, it did not make it morally right. Of course, our young people have not been taught the difference between civilly legal and morally right ever since God has been pushed out of the picture. The two previously meant the same thing. We are now reaping what we have sown.

The 19th is the reason the US has moved leftward

That the country has been moving leftward for a long time is true. Unfortunately, the trend since the early 1950's has been the most prevalent nexis in the breakdown of the family, the glue that keeps advanced societies whole. Divorce, abortion, homosexualism, multi-culturalism and other assorted isms have degraded our society to a point I do not even recognize anymore. Our media promotes these ideas relentlessly. The only result of a continuation of these trends is toward a nation that will look like much of Europe today. I am too old to see this complete it's course in my lifetime, but it will happen soon enough. In the meantime it is worth our while as conservatives to buck those trends with every effort we can muster.

You seem to have accepted those unhappy consequences as inevitable. I do not. You are perfectly within your right as a citizen to support a candidate such as Giuliani. However, I think he is not the right candidate for these times or any other. Perhaps my old fashion conservatism is not compatible with some of the other Freepers around here and I accept that, but I will not compromise my principles in my choices in the ballot box.
