Prayer Request for Ladyinred [Sad update in post #972]

Ladyinred has been diagnosed with lung cancer and it is bad. It has been there for some time with no symptoms. She has taken a couple of Chemo treatments but they will not be able to cure this. They hope to stop the growth for as long as possible.

Please also remember Chadsworth in your prayers, as he is taking this very hard.

In a note to me, ladyinred said ..... "I would appreciate your prayers of course, as that is all that can really help me."

As Chadsworth told me, the only thing that will make a difference is a miracle through the power of prayer.

Dear Chad, what a great attitude you have! It is good to read how proactive you are.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, where an outpouring of divine healing has been going on for several years, with people being healed of such things as staggers the mind. My new motto as a citizen of the Kingdom is, “God can do ANYthing!” This outpouring is not confined to the NW, thankfully!

Three years ago my pastor and his cousin visited a local hospital to ask patients if they could pray for their healing. They happened upon the room of a 22-year-old man who had recently been told he had testicular cancer that had spread to every part of his body except his brain. Lance Armstrong’s doctor evaluated him and, in agreement with every other doctor the young man had seen, told him to get his affairs in order, there was no hope. My pastor and his cousin began to pray with him and his wife, and while they prayed, the cancer was completely driven out of his body. He is in college now, working part time. The doctors told him he needs to return for monthly check ups but after three years, and the way God miraculously healed him in a moment of time, he and his wife finally decided there was no reason to keep going back to make the doctors feel good.

I could go on and on — there have been so many healings of this nature, but I will leave it with this one, and a heartfelt prayer that God will put you and your dear wife in touch with just such a team of people who will pray this type of healing into Connie. God LOVES working with seemingly impossible situations, for His glory is made known and more people are drawn to Him.

Prayers also for wisdom, strength, joy in each other’s love, and every good thing to be lavished upon you both, in Jesus’ Name.

Novena To  St. Peregrine
Glorious wonder-worker, St. Peregrine, you answered the divine call with a ready spirit, and forsook all the comforts of a life of ease and all the empty honors of the world to dedicate yourself to God in the Order of His holy Mother.  You labored manfully for the salvation of souls. In union with Jesus crucified, you endured painful sufferings with such patience as to deserve to be healed miraculously of an incurable cancer in your leg by a touch of His divine hand.

Obtain for me the grace to answer every call of God and to fulfill His will in all the events of life. Enkindle in my heart a consuming zeal for the salvation of all men.  Deliver  her from the infirmities that afflict his body.     Obtain for her also a perfect resignation to the sufferings it may please God to send him, so that, imitating our crucified Savior and His sorrowful Mother, I may merit eternal glory in heaven.  St. Peregrine, pray for us and for all who invoke your aid.

St. Peregrine was born in 1260 at Forlì, Italy to an affluent family. He lived a comfortable life as a youth, and politically opposed the papacy.  After he experienced the forgiveness of St. Philip Benizi, he changed his life and joined the Servite order.  He was ordained a priest, and later returned to his home to establish a Servite community.  There he was widely known for his preaching, penances, and counsel in the confessional.  He was cured of cancer, after he received a vision of Christ on the cross reaching out His hand to touch his impaired limb.  He died in 1345 and was canonized in 1726.  He is the patron of cancer patients.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.  For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.  (Lady in Red)  Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.  Amen.
