Who’s your Dad-ullah?

by JohnHuang2

In a heavy blow for Democrats, “the Taliban’s top operational commander, Mullah Dadullah, has been killed in Afghanistan,” Reuters admitted over the weekend, tears rolling down their cheeks. The New York Times swiftly fingered the culprits in his ‘slaying’ — U.S.-backed “Afghan and coalition forces.” Perhaps to make themselves feel better, Democrats might want to hold hearings. Did the meanie “Afghan and coalition forces” place a panty on his head? Did they taunt him? Call him names? Did his Koran get hurt? Was this at a wedding party? Why no warning shots? After shooting him in the head, was the bullet to the stomach necessary? Or was there a second shooter behind the picket fence around Building 7 next to the twin cave towers? Dick Cheney! (John Edwards promised he’d look into Building 7. If it doesn’t mess up his hair.)
And while we’re busy asking completely idiotic questions, why are we ‘policing’ a raging ‘civil war’ in Afghanistan? The war there is between Afghans and Afghans — let’s pull out now!
The now dead Taliban honcho, Dadullah, was behind numerous head-hackings, assassinations and other religious activities, including “many of the suicide bombings that have killed or wounded hundreds of Afghans in the last year and a half” (NYT, 5/13). And he did all this with just one leg! Dadullah was a “hero” to the Jihad boys. Newsday reminiscenced as how, back in 2001, when U.S. forces evilly helped boot out the Taliban, the one-legged “Dadullah was surrounded but escaped. That, and several false reports since then of his capture or death, helped him build an aura of invincibility.” The media were so enamored of his aura that they claimed he would never be captured or killed. But the claim didn’t have a leg to stand on.

You know things are going well in Afghanistan when months and months go by and you hardly hear about the place — except when there’s little choice, as happened here with this deadullah chap. After millions of miles of column space in the lead-up to the Afghan war insisting the Great Satan was doomed to defeat there just like the Russkies, in three weeks the doomed Great Satan romped to victory. Their Afghan sanctuary gone, al-Qaeda honchos like al-Zarqawi responded the same way the press responded — by slipping Afghanistan down the memory hole and high-tailing it to Iraq (long before “illegal” Bush’s “illegal” war in Iraq) to cook up another ‘Quagmire’ to lose. ‘Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan’ amazingly became ‘al-Qaeda in Iraq.’ ‘Bush’s war’ in Afghanistan effectively pushed al-Qaeda into Iraq, rather than the other way around, which the Democrats keep insanely arguing. Jihad-wise, Taliban leftovers and severely damaged ‘invincible auras’ are now all that’s left in Afghanistan, with one-eyed Mullah Omar eyeing a replacement for the one-legged Dadullah. (According to Reuters, a replacement has been picked and the lucky chap is Mullah Dadullah’s younger brother, Dullah, Dullah bo Fullah Bonna fanna fo Fullah.) The war in Afghanistan is going so well, Democrats pretend they support it.
In Zarqawi’s case, Iraq may not have been a great career move now that he’s dead, but for Muslim “freedom fighters” looking for another virgin factory and for libbie agitproppers looking to sniff out the ‘quagmire’ angle to ‘Adolf Bush’s War on Terror,’ Iraq was the place to get off. Anyway, if you’re the bigshot al-Qaeda Planning Department head, you write-off the rickety backwater and look to put your best assets into Oil Treasure Trove Iraq and build the Caliphate from there, which is why Iraq’s been the tougher nut for us to crack and why Afghanistan has gone swimmingly — even though both countries got invaded by the same Great Satan.
So while Bush was bagging that Taliban biggie in Afghanistan, al-Qaeda was busy cushioning the blow with news from Iraq that they’d captured three U.S. soldiers in a deadly ambush — the point being to win the PR battle by getting the Baathist Treason Lobby here (technically known as the ‘Democrats’) to seize on the ambush as ‘proof’ the surge is a flop, so who cares what happened in Afghanistan with that Dadullah loser.

Based on the Viet Nam/’83 Beirut truck bombing/’93 Somalia model, al-Qaeda figures that if they feed their in-beds (”journalists” in bed with al-Qaeda — or, “MSM” for short) enough crock about ‘deepening quagmires’ and ‘invincible insurgent auras,’ and make the war mostly about who’s got the better PR game, they win. Game over. It’s president B. Hussein Obama! So al-Qaeda and the Democrats bet the whole bank on agitprop — head-hackings/car bombings—>MSM gloom about head-hackings/car bombings—>falling poll numbers—>troop withdrawal—>al-Qaeda victory! But agitprop alone won’t work in the long run if the Great Satan’s got a ground game going (the surge) and that ground game keeps changing facts on the ground — Anbar Sunni tribesmen stacking up al-Qaeda corpses at the morgue; Diyala Arab tribesmen turning on al-Qaeda; Iraqi forces getting in on the action big-time; “unyielding” ‘sectarian violence’ yielding meekly to clear & hold; ‘raging civil war’ keeps not raging, acutely imperiling ‘civil war’ memes; the Mookster, sensing the jig is up, flees to Iran; the ‘mighty’ Mahdi Army mightily no-shows; top ‘al-Qaeda in Iraq’ honchos bagged; Iraqis, ignoring CNN, pouring back into Baghdad; bidnesses popping up everywhere; tips from locals on “heroic freedom fighters” way up; car-bomb factories getting raided and shut down — al-Qaeda hardest hit, etc. And the full Surge hasn’t kicked in.

You don’t change facts on the ground from CBS/NBC/ABC studios in New York; the best al-Qaeda’s in-beds can do from there is shape ‘perception’ but perception alone isn’t enough if the guy the in-beds keep calling a ‘warmonger’ — Bush — won’t play along (refuses to lose the war for Democrats) and Democrats don’t have the cojones to pull the plug on funding. And if you can’t placate your Code Pinkster base anymore with ‘benchmarks,’ non-binding resolutions, phony withdrawal timetables, vague ‘goals,’ deauthorizations and two-month funding bills that go nowhere, then you know your whole electoral strategy is also in trouble. If you’re a libbie, losing in Iraq means everything.
Democrats even got al-Qaeda peeved — not going far enough for them either. Like Code Pink, it’s either pull the plug now or never. But Democrats keep alienating all their supporters. (All things considered, this is still the best Congress al-Qaeda’s ever had!)
And while we’re on the subject, Democrats loved to brag about how much support they have from ‘foreign leaders.’ Yet they just lost France’s Jacques Chirac. They lost Canada’s Paul Martin. They lost Germany’s Gerhard Schroeder. So, where’s all this foreign support now? (Al-Qaeda doesn’t count.) And even al-Qaeda seems shaky, if the latest ‘attack video’ I alluded to is any indication.

With one brush and a full can of stupid, Democrats have brilliantly painted themselves into a corner. Their whole ‘Have Your Quagmire And Eat It too’ jig is up. Poor, poor libbies.
Anyway, that's...
My two cents

Nice looking Hydrangeas, MEG.
A few years ago we hosted a couple of HS exchange students. They present Mrsd with a potted pink hydrangea. We planted it in the garden and now it’s a 4ft diameter plant. Blooms are just beginning to open.

Once again, BRAVO!! Our Thursday team has done it again!

We just got word the other day that my husband's nephew is finally, praise the Lord, safely home from Afghanistan! Thank you, everyone, who remembered him in prayer during his year long deployment.

Mornin', GB.

Not to take the thread off track, but just wanted to mention that the Tineke rose that I ordered from that Canadian nursery arrived. I have never planted bare root this time of year, so I am concerned that it might not make it, but we shall see. I'm giving it lots of TLC and hoping for the best. :-)

Good news is just so boring and dull. Hugs to you both for giving us big ole' sunny smiles on this too-cool, dreary, rainy-like Thursday.
