>P.S. This is not to mean that he isn’t above the fray, BTW...<
LOL! Okay, Anna.
Fred IS above the fray.
I hope he wins just to see him take on the press corps! OH, won't that be rich?
Absolutely brilliant! I love that idea.
>Diet Coke....<
:) You know I used ‘medications’ to get an idea across, not to actually accuse you. Personally, I prefer iced tea myself. Carbonated drinks are bad for the bones.
As far as hysteria goes, the media is going to try to get ratings any way they can.
>As all this goes on, we get “Hurry Fred, hurry. You’re going to be out of it Fred. Announce Fred quickly! Mitt is ahead of you in Iowa Fred, S*** or get off the pot Fred. To me that is hysterical<
Oh THAT hysteria. That’s the “crazy” I was talking about.
:) Perhaps a better word would have been “hype”.
Truce gladly accepted.
And I predict that Fred Thompson will win the White House with about 72% of the vote.
And Hillary will be standing there, tape measure in hand, wondering what happened. Just go away Hillary. All those millions you’ve been spending to try to improve your image didn’t really improve your poll standings. You will not be changing any curtains in this White House. Hopefully never.
>Fred is going to be the next president of the United States. You heard it here first.<
If Duncan Hunter is not the next president of the United States, I fear there will no longer be a United States. You heard it here first.
When the debates start being debates, I’ll start watching again.
In the meantime, they’re just simultaneous monologues and a conglomeration of talking points. Nothing new either.
Boring.
>After all, if you can debate you will make an excellent President...right?<
Actually, debating is excellent training for thinking on your feet, seeing the other side, because there are times you are, in an actual training debate, called upon to take the opposite point of view. So a real debate is a great way to show your stuff, IF you are good at it. If not, better stay away from them.
Fear not.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalms 27:1 KJV)
>When the debates start being debates, I’ll start watching again.<
It’s not the candidates’ fault. If the “debates” were given more than 90 minutes for 10 candidates, and ALL candidates HAD to comment on EACH question, that would be a real debate.
The forum being used is unfair, because the power to direct a question belongs to the moderator, and is thus ultimately uninformative.
Couldn’t agree with you more.
I did not get through the entire thread. Did not make it through the first page, but I am impressed that nobody is jumping on each other giving their opinion. Can’t say that for FR sometimes. Fred Thompson is not the candidate that should be chosen in my opinion. As some in the other thread mentioned, Fred has many Bush Administration personnel on his team...
Ah, I see the latest Rudy-booster talking point has been distributed.
Tell us exactly how ANY major GOP candidate can avoid having at least some association with those involved with the Bush campaign or the Bush Administration.
How did he rise so much in the polls, if he's not playing?
If Duncan Hunter is not the next president of the United States, I fear there will no longer be a United States. You heard it here first.
I just don’t understand why people are giving up on Duncan already. I see that they are not loyal that is for sure. We have not had one primary yet and people are jumping ship. It is much different when people are in front of the ballot. Fred is just the “Big Man on Campus” right now, but how long will this “exuberance” last. They are acting like teenagers getting to drive for the first time. Well after awhile it gets routine and mundane and boring.
Ah, I see the latest Rudy-booster talking point has been distributed.
Well at least Thompson supporters should understand other supporters and who they are for. Do you think I am for Rudy???? You are way off line for that. I am for Duncan Hunter!!!! and if we must make a second choice than it is Mitt Romney. Fred is third.
