I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.
Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.
The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:

The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.
The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.
The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.
That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.
The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.
The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

"I hate blacks" for example was an Asian paper's "I Hate Blacks" column. Also, I found two others; to wit, "The reason is not that I hate blacks. . . ." and "...his name used to be 'I hate blacks, Jews and Sp***', now he is a loving member of the Democrat party!"
I emailed the above to the O'Reilly site yesterday and told him the "I hate blacks" didn't pass the test. Could he post his links? I asked.
Just now I searched for two strings to find FR threads: "I hate blacks" "BOX 9771"
the hits are up to 83 the increase is of course due to today's threads.
So, using O'Whirling Dervish's criteria I found that Fox News reeks of racist hate talk. I was just shocked. I don't have a TV. I've never seen Fox News. It's just not right that they get away with that bigotry.

Well, I'm not saying Kristinn wasn't smart, that would be silly. He probably just didn't expect to be blindsided by Mr. O'Lielly, with a bogus post and others taken out of context, then shouted down.
O'Lielly is a collosal phony, but I'm sure that's no surprise to anyone here.
When BOR makes such a vile statement about Free Republic, he has implied that I have personally said such a thing.
Time for me to use our legal system.

I believe you are spot on here ^. I bet that's exactly what happened. BOR's staff doesn't have time to search through all the FR threads, but they should have taken the time to verify that which they were provided. If, as is speculated (re: the blacks comment post), even ONE of the items BOR mentioned is not true...how does that separate him from the likes of Dan Rather?

Not everyone posts or reads every thread on this site, so for BO and his staff to cherry pick so few out of so many is ludicrous. Can I use the word ludicrous and BO in the same sentence? BO has a running battle with Ludicrous(sp), the group.
Kristinn, thank you for representing FR on BOR. You did a great job.
The Admin Mods do a fine job weeding out the posts that go against site policy and the posters themselves help weed out the trolls, etc.
We walk a fine line between our first amendment rights and decency on occasion but, this site, as far as I’m concerned, has NO match.
