What Web Comics Do You Read?
9/13/07 | Tanniker Smith

When there hasn't been a new post on FR for an entire five minutes, which webcomics do you check out? Are they humorous? Political? Geeky? All of the above?

I used to read Dork Tower and Irregular Webcomic when I still had a subscription to Pyramid Online. IWC has pointed me to The Alterverse War, which just started, so I don't know if it'll be any good or not.

And recently I discovered XKCD, which occasionally relies on the use of math and science knowledge for its humor (and it does it quite well).
(There are some favorites on the bottom of the main page -- one involves James Bond on a centrifuge.)

I know that there's a million of them out there, just wondering what the folks here read.
(oh, yeah, my ulterior motive is to bookmark this thread.)

While I don't read webcomics per se, I publish comics online at Hypercomics...

I usually just read the funnies in the paper. But... I did cut one out from last Sunday (9/9/07) it was “Get Fuzzy”. The dog is dumb and the cat is always scheaming, mean, etc. So... not sure how the guy meant for the strip to be - but it sure was funny.

The cat finds some type of slug. The cat says “It’s got no spine, so it would be in Phylum Democrata.....” and continues from there. If I don’t see it posted after awhile I’ll transcribe it later.

I brought that one into work and showed it to the liberal who reads the Times.

He actually agreed that the Democrats had no spines.

No links necessary. Just get onto Pookie’s ping list.

My cartoons are delivered to me almost every morning.

John Bergstrom over at http://attackcartoons.com/ gets some traffic from me.

If you like, uhh, humor from out of left field; then give Max Cannon’s Redmeat a try. It’s not for everybody though. http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/

You have not been on the internet yet if you have not seen at least one User Friendly strip. http://www.userfriendly.org/

Visit what might possible be the slowest webcomic on the net! Kill someone with a rock! http://www.blastwavecomic.com/

If you play World of Warcraft, or have spent much time goofing around in any role playing game on a computer, then you might like Looking For Group. http://www.lfgcomic.com/

If you’re much of a jazz cat chances are you’d get a kick out of Lackadaisy. http://www.lackadaisycats.com/

If you’re a gamer then you have to give VG Cats a look. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?

Day by Day. I can’t go a day without it. It is smart and completely makes fun of liberals. At the bottom the month laid out. Go back and check their history. The only hip conservative comic on the web that I know of.

Cracked.com just put up a list of the top 8 funniest web comics. Guess I’m old and out of it, but I looked over their examples and can’t figure out what’s even supposed to be funny about most of them. They look like they’re done by retarded children. A lot of the artwork is eyestrain-inducing, too. Please tell me there’s something better than this lot: http://www.cracked.com/index.php?name=News&sid=2376
