Rush Limbaugh Vs. The Real Phonies
IBD ^ | October 2, 2007

Congress: The anti-war left is trying to slime a major conservative pundit, but Rush Limbaugh was right about the left's "phony soldiers," and Kerry, Murtha, Durbin et al. have called our troops far worse.

Macbeth, in this case, is not the name of a Shakespearean tragedy, but rather the name of one of the "phony soldiers" Limbaugh spoke of in a recent radio broadcast.

Jesse Adam Macbeth was a hero of leftist blogs after he claimed in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service in Iraq that he said included slaughtering innocent civilians in a Fallujah mosque.

Iraq Veterans Against The War and other leftist groups trumpeted his charges as proof we were no better than Saddam Hussein.

When his true discharge papers were released, they contradicted his story. They said Macbeth was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his "entry-level performance and conduct." He didn't serve in Iraq. He didn't win a Purple Heart. And neither he nor any other U.S. soldier massacred civilians in a mosque.

Sean had Justice Thomas on this evening, telling about his biography, My Grandfather’s Son. One of the most compelling segments was his observation that the KKK racists in Savannah never threatened him or his family as he was threatened by the Democrat Senators at his nomination hearings. He said that it was plain that they were out to destroy him and all he had worked for. He said it all came down to one issue, and though he didn’t name it, we all know it is the Democrats holy sacrament, abortion. How disgusting that Americans keep voting for these evil people! When God’s punishment is visited on the USA, and it definitely will happen unless there is wholesale repentance, it will be deserved.

How is it possible that these Americans hate America so much? I truly don’t understand it.

Media Matters = Slime Machine = Clinton Front Group

Everyone should start referring to it as Media Matters for Hillary Clinton, 'cause that is exactly what it is.

A few well thought out posts on a handful of websites ended up bringing down Dan Rather. Rush has 20 million listeners, what makes these clowns think this scam is going to work in their favor? Are they insane?

Another phoney, claiming to have been a Marine:

“Rather’s voice started quivering, and he told me how in his young days, he had signed up with the Marines – not once, but twice!”

This is not the first time Rather has hid behind the flag and his own military service claims to deflect criticism of his reporting, Burkett said.

Burkett added that Rather is greatly exaggerating his record. First, Burkett says, Rather “misspoke” when he claimed he signed up for the Marines twice. He didn’t.

And Burkett is flabbergasted that Rather continues to proudly describe himself as a “Marine.”

“What he did, he signed up for the military twice, not the Marines,” Burkett said after thoroughly reviewing Rather’s military records.

But Burkett notes that Rather “never got through Marine recruit training because he couldn’t do the physical activity.”

Rather ‘Unfit’

As Burkett explains in “Stolen Valor,” Rather “was discharged less than four months later on May 11, 1954 for being medically unfit.” As a boy, Rather had suffered from rheumatic fever.

“This is like a guy who flunks out of Harvard running around saying he went to Harvard,” Burkett said.

Burkett also believes that, far from being a gung-ho military enlistee, Rather’s record shows he deftly avoiding entering the military during the Korean War.

Burkett says that Rather was a student at Sam Houston University at a time during the Korean War when “you could be drafted right out of college,” with deferments available only short term, for a semester.

I want to take this oppurtunity to clear something up. I have been in the White House but I was never really the President Of The United States.

Bottom Line: Rush needs to come out and admit that this was a poor choice of words, apologize and move on.

He doesn’t have to grovel and apologize a gazillion times like George Allen did over the “Macaca incident”. Admit it was a mistake and move on.

"I’ll agree with you on that my man."

Well here's one back at you, my man.

The SF Board of Supervisors are just as Stalinist as those idiots Reid, Harkin and the Media Matters smear machine. As you probably already know, they passed a resolution condemning Savage. I heard what he said, and it needed to be said. They can't take the heat however.

I support Weiner...er..I mean Savage (sorry) on this. :)

Dear Fellow Freepers:

We have before us one of the most challenging times in our nation's history. The battle has already begun. And it is as much about the enemy of Marxism on our shores as it was when it was a distant enemy. Many of us were hoping it would not begin for another year, saving our energy as we have. But the first volleys have been fired, and we must now enter the breach.

All this, and while our nation is at war.

There was no mistake. The discussion with the caller, plus additional discussion by Rush that touched on the matter, was quite clearly focused on the exact same news that'd been in an ABC report a couple of days earlier.

What we have here are a bunch of drunks and closet gays who've come up with some sort of lie they think everybody will buy.

Harry Reid and his merry band of little friends think they are invisible!

You really don't want to get caught defending the Democrats on this one.

it was NOT a “poor choice of words”, it was an excellent choice of words. RAT apologists are now hanging their smear on the “fact” that Rush said “phony soldiers” instead of “phoney soldier”. Tonight Colmes was reduced to saying “why didn’t Rush say that until one minute and fifty-three seconds later?” They have already been reduced to such contortions and pitpicking to keep their phoney smear going that they have already sidetracked themselves. Dennis Praeger made a total ass of colmes tonight simply by quoting his own words back to him. Colmes was left sputtering like a broken chainsaw.

Wrong; that is what IMUS did, and look where he is. Rush has done more for our troops than any of the democrats now chastising him. These people are sick beyond words and Rush should NOT apologize for this.

You don't get out much, do you.

Let me guess- you heard about this on tv, right?

Get current on this. Until you do you should refrain from comment.

You are poorly informed.

Of course Colmes began that segment by continuing the smear of Rush and then he does his version of “can’t we all just get along” to Dennis Prager. I wrote Colmes an e-mail telling what a lowlife he is and told him to stop hiding behind Ann Coulter skirt and told him the truth about Max Cleland.

It wasn’t a poor choice of words, in fact, it wasn’t even Rush’s words, Rush should not in any way shape or form apologize, and of course being the stand-up guy that he is, he won’t.

Couple this massive drive to humiliate Rush, are the hearings on the Blackwater guard service. The phoney concern, the heavy stares, the adamant voices of the questioners, thinking they are like the Kefauver Commission on organized crime. This to those explaining the conditions that guards face in Iraq.

I do not see one genuinely concerned person among the detractors of either Rush or Blackwater. The political opportunity is paramount with these people. Charlatans. I do hope this will go away. Rush rode out Bill Clinton's smear after the Murrah Building explosion. He will ride out this one. Can he take heads in the process?.
