Why not support the STRONGEST pro-lifer, and IF he doesn’t win in the primaries, you can still vote for “whoever” in the General Election.
***I like that.

Sure, and if it's hunter I'd be happy to vote for him.

My concern is that - any my own research shows this - that Guiliani can win if the convervatives are split with guys pealing off for folks like the Tank, Hunter, and Five Percent Fred (5%).

He’s at 4% now, with help from people like you he can hit 5%. Giving up now is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Candidates have to pass these five litmus tests...

1. Pushed for PRO-LIFE policies to ensure the right of the unborn. Will stand up for CHRISTIAN values, rather than Hollywood values.

2. Anti-Amnesty, against SANCTUARY CITIES, builder of fences. DOES NOT support "aspirations of citizenship" (AMNESTY) for ILLEGAL CRIMINALS. Will deport illegals even if "it's not easy". WILL NOT put a price on citizenship and hold employers accountable for hiring illegals.

3. MUST be on top of military issues and willing to stand up to the LIEberals who use our military as political props. Does NOT support a cut & run strategy in War on Terrorism. Willing do do more than give LIP SERVICE to Iranian dictators pursuing nuclear ambitions.

4. Understands that we should trade with ALLIES, not COMMUNIST enemies.

5. Against socialized medicine (pushing for free market style choices - such as purchasing health plans across state lines). DOES NOT promote nanny-state, tax & spend, BIG GOVERNMENT dominating our lives.

There's only one candidate worthy of my vote....

Those who say a "perfect candidate can't win" have fooled themselves into accepting choice between lesser of two evils, which is still evil. Primary and beyond, my support is for Duncan Hunter.

How could I possibly change his poll numbers?

Being out of the debates means he is going to get zero news coverage or his message out.

He is broke and can’t run TV ads. Its over.

He’s at 4%. The threshold is 5%. All we need is a few people like you, Mr. Sunshine. Don’t give up on the best conservative in the race — that’s what the primaries are for.

You can compromise your principles later.

“He’s at 4%. The threshold is 5%. All we need is a few people like you, Mr. Sunshine”

So you’re expecting that I will get called in a poll and If I voted for Hunter that would bring his poll number up to 5%?

Thats the plan?

I wish him luck.

At some point in time, we have to be realistic as to whom has a good chance of being nominated and winning. I’m not sure any of these choices is electable. If I have to choose, I’ll go with Fred, but I doubt he will be the party’s nominee.

It’s no fantasy, we wanted the best we got the best, Hunter. That’s who we support and will support. You play the “who is best among the losers” game, I will stick with Hunter. He had the charisma to get the Fence Bill passed. He has the charisma to get 70% of the Democratic vote and 60% of the Hispanic vote in his district. I could go on, but you already understand this. You are fiddling with media polls while Rome burns and trying to bludgeon us with them. You have a lot to learn about true conservatives. It ain’t gonna happen.

yes we have had the politics of lowered expectations ever since modern polling methods. Before polls, Hunter would have a chance but today people won’t even consider him even though they agree with him on most things.
People look at how bad Rudy is, figure Romney has the best chance of beating him and support him even though he drives them crazy.

If you do it, and all the others who read this do it, and we get some activism going, it will happen.

Your pessimistic attitude towards conservatism should no longer go unchallenged. Would you let your best friend talk like that? You give up too easily.

The criteria for the debate is that the candidate have 5%, and Hunter is showing 4% in some polls. He still might get there in time for the debate.

PLUS, as I said, John Kerry was 4% in the polls 3 weeks before the primaries. He would not have met that criteria if his party had such a rule.

I’ve been calling talk shows, writing editor’s letters, donated to Hunter’s campaign, contacting media to have Hunter on their shows, and will continue to do so.

I don’t want to hear any crying from Republicans who give up to easily if we get a candidate who is soft on supporting the life issue or globalist as POTUS.

“At some point in time” — that point is not now. That is after there’s a nominee. Before the primaries you pick your best guy on the basis of principles and you stick with him. How do you think we all got in this position where the media is telling us who our candidates are? It’s because of approaches like yours.

Snap out of it for now. You can go back to your dreary pessimism in 3 months.
