(11/12) Three way runoff: Which one of the following candidates should pro-life conservatives rally behind to defeat the liberal abortionists Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton?

(C) Fred Thompson

Amen. That's what I am going to do from now on. I'm not going to buy into the "you have to vote for this guy you aren't really for in the PRIMARY because tactically this is what we have to do to win the general election" argument anymore. That argument has got us Bush I, Dole, and Bush II and I'm sick of it. Go Hunter.
If I were in Florida and Duncan Hunter hadn't yet won any delegates, I'd have to admit that he wasn't likely to go anywhere in this campaign. In that case, I'd look around my Congressional district to see who I thought would win the district and get the two or three post-penalty delegates assigned to the district. If I thought that Giuliani would win easily, I'd go back to voting for Duncan Hunter. Otherwise, I'd vote for Mitt Romney.
If I were in a February 5 state, I'd again look at my district and the state as a whole. If I didn't think I could influence things in favor of someone other than Giuliani, I'd vote for Duncan Hunter. Otherwise, I'd vote for Mitt Romney.
I live in Louisiana right now, and our primary is the Saturday after February 5. On February 6, I'll find a site that is giving delegate totals, and I'll decide which candidate I believe has the best chance of beating Rudy Giuliani. If Mitt Romney has that chance, I'll vote for him. If Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson are about the same, I'll vote for Mitt Romney. If Fred Thompson has the best chance to beat Giuliani, I'll vote for Fred Thompson (in spite of how I feel about some of his more vocal supporters on Free Republic).

It is a mathematical decision once we reach December.
We should rally behind the one who is best positioned to win the nomination.
With the delegate selection beginning in January, we have no more time to nitpick differences. We must turn, in mass, to one of the leaders. We should ensure there are no show-stopper political positions or skeletons. We should consider their poll positioning in various states, especially early states. We should consider the stregth of their organization. We should consider available cash. We should consider electability.
It is between Romney and Thompson right now, and I’m sure that Romney has the lead.
He is not even one of my top choices, but we have only 2 more weeks to settle on a candidate. Lower tier candidates must move up in standings NOW, or they are only hurting.
I guess I forgot the Nov 28th debate.
I was talking about the Dec 2nd Iowa debate where they reported that Hunter, Tanc, and Paul wouldn’t be invited.
I’m not sure my conscience will allow me to vote for anyone but Hunter in the general election even if I have to write his name in.

These are all Democrats. Have you got a similar list from the Republican party?.... Normally the Republican party doesn’t come up with no names. Instead the winner will come from one of the front runners.
Admittedly, this campaign is somewhat different as there doesn’t appear to be an heir apparent. But there are three or more with decent name recognition.

Either way, I think the Republicans have more of the right stuff this time around than it has for a long time. It wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of democrats switch because they don't like their own partie's anti-war policy. They are not that blind that they can't see what will come down the pike should they win and start shuttling the troops home immediately.

So far he’s not invited to the Iowa debate on Dec. 4 because he’s still at 4%. He must be at 5% or more to be invited to this important “gathering”.

What is this nonsense about worshipping at the altar of name recognition? Like you said, this is an unusual race with no heir apparent, not that we’ve had so much luck with those guys in the past anyways.
I could run a 12yearold nobody against Hildebeast and win, as long as he was truly conservative. Ask yourself why proposition 187 won overwhelmingly in liberal California when the press was doing its best to hound it into oblivion, claiming it was 30 points behind right even up to election day (and it won big). Ask yourself the same thing about Bill Sali, who won in the same way.
The media is so anti-conservative that they’ll work themselves into a frenzy if it was this 12yearoldNoName that I hypothesize. Soon enough, most of America would see that the press has completely jumped the shark, that the 12yearold represents how they view the world better than these socialist whackos, and the election is a done deal. If you try to move to the center with Hildebeast, she will eat you alive. We need to let the media do what it does best — play the liberal card every time it can.
