Kansas pro-lifers have been handed a court victory today in a case involving a late-term abortion doctor.
A grand jury has being asked to investigate Doctor George Tiller over his alleged involvement in illegal late-term abortions in the state of Kansas. The investigation comes after Attorney General Paul Morrison filed 19 criminal charges against Tiller, claiming that the Kansas doctor violated a state statute banning abortions on babies after 22 weeks gestation.
However, Tiller filed a Writ of Mandamus asking for a special exemption from grand jury investigation. But Kansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Kay McFarland ruled today that his petition is denied, and that the investigation can move forward. Troy Newman is president of Operation Rescue, one of the leading pro-life organizations in the U.S. He says that today's ruling is a major victory.
"We believe that this is a great victory. Because it shows that the courts must uphold the standard of law, and the law is on the side of the people," He says. "The problem has been enforcement in the state of Kansas and the people are now going to hopefully, prayerfully, see indictments and convictions of the nations largest abortionists."

What was your point about the 14th amendment? Can you repeat it here and relate it to a state, rather than national, law.
There is no doubt about babies after the 5.5 month mark being viable.
A baby one day after conception is viable!
Well, you certainly destroyed any chance of this thread being informative.
And you did it in the third post - congratulations!
The entire concept of “fetal viability” is a fallacy. It is a straw-man used to justify a barbaric act. There is no need for the “fetal viability” test, if a child is left to develop normally within the womb.
Know different then a person on life support.
If it was known within a 90+% certainty, that a person on life support would be completely viable after a short nine months, would pro-choicers agree with pulling the plug?
And you have further reduced the thread to just another “STOP ALL ABORTION REGARDLESS” rant.

I don't believe that's the issue addressed in this article.
Give me a good reason to abort a child and we’ll talk.
the standard has been lowered by the darkness working unwittingly through peoples minds. Some of the posters here should take a look at fhu.com to come out of that darkness and become free and happy again.
Tiller is famous for late term abortions, and has made big money performing abortions that other abortionists wouldn’t touch.
“Viability” means that if there were a miscarriage, the baby would have a reasonable chance of living.
But I must agree that all abortion involves the taking of an innocent human life. That’s not just a religious position, it’s a fact. A scientific fact.
1) The fetus is human. At no point is it any other species.
2) The fetus is alive until it is killed. At no point after conception was it ever dead.
3) The fetus is innocent. An unborn child has had no opportunity to commit crimes or do anything evil.
Tiller has also been guilty of killing several of his “patients,” including one poor girl who was retarded, and of concealing numerous instances of statutory rape of minors, although the law requires him to report such rapes to the authorities. He only escaped indictment last year by pouring money into the election to defeat the former AG of Kansas.
*ping*
Life begins at conception.
Extended life becomes possible at implantation.
Viability is the time during gestation that the baby can live outside the womb. Medicine keeps pushing that date earlier and earlier.
It’s amazing how many well meaning folks will not look beyond the fallacious arguments they have been fed. I guess the old adage is true that if a lie is repeated often enough it then becomes the accepted “truth”.
Fatal anomalies such as anencephaly.
It isn't about anyone's opinion about what "viable" means.
A pregnant woman is assaulted, during which the baby dies. Does this constitute murder, and if so, at which point of the pregnancy does it become murder?
Viability has LEGAL ramifications, it's not always about abortion (which I oppose, incidentally), so quit trying to make this thread all about YOUR opposition to all abortion.
Tragic.
So, it's better to be murdered than to die a natural death?
Let me get this straight. Morrison accused Kline being extreme for going after Killer Tiller. Now Morrison is doing the same thing Kline did. The KS media owes Kline an apology.
