REP. STEVE KING: Im Congressman Steve King.
I want to thank Tom Tancredo for putting his head and his heart and his soul into this presidential race. Hes advanced the immigration issue with border security and the rule of law tremendously, and thats to his great credit.
He and I disagree on who will carry that ball from now on.
Ive put my head and my heart and my efforts behind Fred Thompson because he is the one who will define what amnesty is not what amnesty isnt. Fred Thompson will stand up for the rule of law. I dont have that confidence in any of the other candidates. Thats why Im here.
Im going to continue to carry this fight. I hope Tom Tancredo continues to carry this fight. However this breaks in the end, hell be my friend and I appreciate what hes done for all of us.
ROBOT: ERROR..ERROR.. DOES NOT COMPUTE.
lol
Exactly, Republicans must stick together. Also, people need to think about the troops. No way do I want the Dems to lead our troops! You might as well hand over our troops to Osama. Republicans must lead the troops!

You got that right. Then again, we're talking about politicians, not principled men.
Still, I wouldn't mind seeing Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney working together in the same fashion that Huckabee and Guilani are doing.
The Huckster and Julie Ann will work to either open our borders wider or subvert any enforcement. Fred and Mitt are at least persuadable to listening to the people. It is hard to tell which of the two would be better.
link please?
I have no problem with legal immigration. If we got the illegals out, by default we’d have lesser immigrants.
Anyone running for the Presidency can come up with a tough plan to tackle illegal immigration. It is what they did when they were elected before is also important. Illegal Immigration did not surface in the 21st century, Fred’s lack of a voting record on this issue is factual and hence plays a significant part in him not getting Tancredo’s endorsement.
Infact all the front running Presidential candidates dont have a record on this issue, all their supposed tough positions are not backed up by their track record.
Hunter is the only remaining Presidential candidate who HAS a record opposing illegal immigration and I agree with those who criticise Tancredo for not endorsing Hunter. If he is not endorsing Hunter, then he can endorse anyone he wants.
He supports Huck and is talking about Thompson on immigration...
Wow, I can’t even get my head around that...
Riiight...
Don’t you have a Tax Scheme to peddle...
This was 5 years ago before the countering science was hardened as it has become.
Also your own post answer the question on where Fred was on this:
I would like to thank my colleagues for their statements and indicate my support for the agreement that we have reached with regard to Title X. A lot of hard work has gone into this agreement. It is my belief that there are still many uncertainties with regard to climate change. However, I also believe that the potential risks of climate change warrant study, research and technological development. This substitute to Title X goes a long way towards achieving those goals. This amendment also recognizes that there are many contributors to climate change beyond CO2, and I appreciate that black soot is included.
So we are against taking actions that move science ahead and try and preserve our nation against a perceived threat, which is where this was at that time.
In 2002 the bulk of the science was looking at a dramatic impact from Global Warming. Even then there was some debate on the cause, as Thompson noted, but not denying something was up. As we know now this appears to be a natural phenomena and not as dramatic as it was thought hopefully.
So they, and he, erred on the side of caution. I like that in a Conservative. I hope he errs on the side of caution in regards to Iran and other thinggs as well.
Sad and true.

It’s scary to see how little interest our government, both Congress and The President, have in protecting our borders and enforcing law. If Tom Tancredo hadn’t effectively shouted about it, it would be like Holocaust Denial.
Now that Tom isn’t running, we’re sinking back down into Clintonesque Invasion Denial.
What part of "we don't know if there's a real problem, so let's study it to be sure one way or another because there is a risk involved" isn't conservative?
I do this all the time as a manager -- it's called risk mitigation, and you pay an upfront cost to minimize the chances of a much, much higher cost problem coming later.
