Rep. Steve King On Rep. Tom Tancredo

REP. STEVE KING: I’m Congressman Steve King.

I want to thank Tom Tancredo for putting his head and his heart and his soul into this presidential race. He’s advanced the immigration issue with border security and the rule of law tremendously, and that’s to his great credit.

He and I disagree on who will carry that ball from now on.

I’ve put my head and my heart and my efforts behind Fred Thompson because he is the one who will define what amnesty is not what amnesty isn’t. Fred Thompson will stand up for the rule of law. I don’t have that confidence in any of the other candidates. That’s why I’m here.

I’m going to continue to carry this fight. I hope Tom Tancredo continues to carry this fight. However this breaks in the end, he’ll be my friend and I appreciate what he’s done for all of us.

This is a classy but proactive statment by Rep. King who makes it clear he believes Fred is the best man in this race and that he does not support his friend Tom Tancredo in his decision to endorse Romney.

IMO, they’ve both gone off the rails on this one.

I agree. Congressman King needs to explain why he has "confidence" that only Fred Thompson "will stand up for the rule of law". Last time I checked, Fred's Senate "record" of enforcing immigration laws was just as checked as the other "front runners"

Since it’s just rumor I won’t run with it. I will say it’s hard to make sense of his decision and I doubt that most of Tancredo’s supporters will follow his lead to Romney.

Betrayers of friends and supporters get theirs in the end, as Tommy-boy will for his Judaslike apostasy.

Tancredo is simply jumping on the horse most likely to win and who has spelled out his anti-illegal immigration plan explicitly and succintly.

Joe Isuzu Romney hasn’t spelled out anything that can be taken seriously. Lying opportunists are about as firm in their beliefs as cooked spaghetti.

Tancredo is being used by his so call consultant, Bay Buchannan, who has handed over the little package to Mitt.

This is a strong endorsement. He's respected in Iowa and this is a big issue in that state. I can't believe his support of Fred is not getting a lot of attention.

This is a classy but proactive statment by Rep. King who makes it clear he believes Fred is the best man in this race and that he does not support his friend Tom Tancredo in his decision to endorse Romney.

This is the same Fred Thompson who supported title X that was based on the false premise of man made Global Warming. Below are a passage from the bill and a passage of his remarks about the bill.

DIVISION D--INTEGRATION OF ENERGY POLICY AND CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY TITLE X--CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY FORMULATION

Subtitle A--Global Warming SEC. 1001. SENSE OF CONGRESS ON GLOBAL WARMING.

(a) FINDINGS. The Congress makes the following findings:

(1) Evidence continues to build that increases in atmospheric concentrations of man-made greenhouse gases are contributing to global climate change.

(2) The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has concluded that ``there is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities'' and that the Earth's average temperature can be expected to rise between 2.5 and 10.4 degrees Fahrenheit in this century.

Thompson's remarks:

I would like to thank my colleagues for their statements and indicate my support for the agreement that we have reached with regard to Title X. A lot of hard work has gone into this agreement. It is my belief that there are still many uncertainties with regard to climate change. However, I also believe that the potential risks of climate change warrant study, research and technological development. This substitute to Title X goes a long way towards achieving those goals. This amendment also recognizes that there are many contributors to climate change beyond CO2, and I appreciate that black soot is included.

Fred isn't nearly as Conservative as he wishes everyone to believe

Yes, a rumor you are just dying to spread. Especially as you call yourself a “blue collar” Pub. A little class envy going on here on your part? Sounds like it. That’s what Dems do. That’s what Hillary does, spread rumors.
