My last set of prints taken at the San Diego Sheriff's Office used a glass scanning surface and an electronic scanner. The scan is presented on a video monitor to check the quality. The application in the computer sends the finger print scan directly to the FBI electronically AND prints a paper copy in the style of the old ink type finger print cards.

The problem is that if fingerprinting should show that a person is illegal or using forged documents, the politics and hassles of reporting an illegal to ICE will dissuade police from pursuing the matter further. However, law abiding citizens will be recorded in police databases forever.
Here's another case where the end result will be the opposite of what law enforcement claims they're setting out to accomplish.

Oh this rates right up there with that article posted a couple of weeks ago about the cops taking blood samples by the contract test folks. Remember that? Hopefully, somebody will take them to task on this for violation of 4th Amendment rights.

Im no libertarian but I stand with them agsinst tyranny. As do I. The "Whatever the police say" crowd is as dangerous to our liberty as any left-winger. We're a nation of individuals, and, while we can unite for the common good, to be forced into a community at the point of a gun is nothing more than slavery. The government works for US, not vice versa.

You brought a little logic and reason into a conspiracy theory crazed thread. Man are you going to get it for that! Good luck.

If the MSM picks that up there will surely be a major crime spree starting tomorrow in San Francisco!

But of course I have the right to refuse... if I dont want to drive a car, or if I dont want to work. Like it or not, thats the path ahead I expect.Yup. Now that they've managed to convince us that the common-law right to travel has an automobile exception, they can do just about anything they want to us.
