Huckabee's New Language Posted by Joy Lin

(CBS) From CBS News' Joy Lin:

OSCEOLA, IOWA – A lot can change between now and Jan. 3, Mike Huckabee said while pheasant hunting today.

Out in the brittle, snowy fields, Huckabee shot the third of three pheasants killed by his hunting group. Reporters watched from a distance and circled around him when he came back with the dead birds.

One reporter said, “Governor, you like to speak in metaphors. What’s the metaphor here?”

“Don’t get in my way,” he said.

She asked if the birds had “names like Romney, Thompson…”

Huckabee: “No I’ll let you decide that.”

With a firing shot, Huckabee launched into the final stretch of campaigning in Iowa with a photo op. Less than twelve hours after Christmas, reporters were already asking Huckabee about his rival opponents and the effect negative campaigning will have against his did.

Huckabee said he wasn’t sure what effect would be but said Iowan caucus goers were seasoned enough to “see through” the negative campaigning.

“The magician plays the game of keeping your focus over here on this hand while he’s doing something with the other one,” said Huckabee. “And I think people understand that slight of hand is not why you elect a president.”

A journalist jumped in and said Huckabee just accused Romney of being a magician.

“No I didn’t,” said Huckabee to a group of laughing gaggle. “There you go again, you guys are always putting words in my mouth. I’m going to load this thing up right here,” he said looking down at his gun.

“Just speaking Huckabese,” joked another reporter.

“Is that a new language?” asked Huckabee, chuckling. “Must be.”

Oh my, a person going hunting and Ms. Lin sees all type of evil.

Of course, some FReepers and Rush will be cheering Ms. Lin.

At least Rush will have a real source to base his knee jerk bile against Huckabee, this time, unlike on an anonymous poster on an Atlantic Magazine blog, the last time.

In looking through your recent posting history, it appears you’re fixated on Rush. Rush Derangement Syndrome strikes again?

Uh it's seems it was Rush who was fixated on an anonymous poster on the Atlantic Magazine website and attacked Huckabee.

“The magician plays the game of keeping your focus over here on this hand while he’s doing something with the other one,” said Huckabee.

"By the way", Huckabee added, don't some magicians worship the Devil?" Crossing guns with one of his aids, Huckabee floated away.

Lame reply. You’re the one posting threads and then hijacking them in your first reply in order to bash Rush.

Governor Huckabee: “There you go again. You guys are always putting words in my mouth. I’m going to load this thing up right here...”

Journalists: “You’re threatening to shoot us!”

Governor Huckabee: “There you go again...”

LOL! Talk about a lame reply. Sorry that you don't like the truth that Rush based his attack on Huckabee by an anonymous poster on the Atlantic Monthly Magazine website.

Sheesh at least with this article Rush can attack Huckabee with a named source and that is my contention.

Actually Rush didn't really engage the campaign until Ed Rollins, Huckabee's campaign manager, basically affirmed what the unnamed Huckabee operative said. And his "attacks" have been in the form of legitimate questions about Huckabee's record and positions.

Why can't Huckabee supporters discuss his record? Why must every legitimate question be met with personal attacks?

Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and he’s got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.

.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

That's your contention, huh? Maybe next you can post an article on today's weather and let us all know that at least today Rush can attack Huckabee under mostly sunny skies.

Your apparent fixation on Rush is almost as strange as your continued interest in a forum that doesn't share your (rather liberal) political views.

Such as Rush saying that anyone who votes for Huckabee is basing it on "identity" politcs.

A question isn't voting for a conservative Rush endorses "identity" politics?

Of course its a puff piece. The DNC believes rightly so that Hucksterbee is a an easy kill in the general election, and so therefore nothing but puff pieces will be run until he wins the GOP nomination.
