You know, when I heard that she didn’t get shot, the first thing I thought was that they were trying to make it sound like al queda wasn’t successful in an attempt to discourage them, or at least not let them take credit for it.
Personally, I suspect she was shot, but that’s just me.
Finally a smattering of truth comes out.

Maybe my eyes were bad, but I couldn’t tell if she was shot or not.
I did certainly hear what sounded like three shots followed by the suicide bomber’s explosion. That, and the earlier video and stories, suggest that the plan was to shoot her and then blow up the shooter as well as the crowd, to prevent an arrest or identification of who was responsible.
It still seems possible that the shots missed, although now I wonder if a healthy person would be likely to kill herself with a bumped head when ducking back into the car.
I also wonder if Musharref will follow up on yesterday’s offer to exhume her so people can have a look. And I still don’t see what he gains by arguing the point. She was still basically killed by the Taliban terrorists.
The guy was within touching distance of her SUV when he fired. Very hard to believe he could have missed three times. There does appear to be a physical reaction to at least one of the shots; and she clearly falls before the bomb goes off. There is no blood or spray from the bullets visible in the shooting sequence though.

It, very much, does appear that she could have been shot in this video. I heard three shots, and I saw the flash.
However, in the next sequence shown, about 2:30 into the vid, I hear four shots. One. One, two three. Like that.

In addition, with an accomplice, the attack was obviously conspiracy and not the work of a lone crazy. Given a conspiracy, I'm sure the gunman who was chosen had had A LOT of practice. Three taps from ten feet away would easily result in two head shots, again IMHO.
Pretty damned obvious she was shot, the gubmet is lying about it.

She fell into the car before the explosion, so it’s safe to say she died from a gunshot.

Looks to me like she takes a head shot and falls straight down like a sack of potatos. Certainly doesn’t go down with enough force to kill herself by stiking her head on the sun roof (which she doesn’t appear to do)
Nobody has mentioned that immediately after the shooter shoots, he is ushered (not tackled, yanked, collared)immediately away from the vehicle AND THE BOMB BLAST just before it goes off. Hmmmmm......
The original report was that she was struck by shrapnel. The next report was that a sniper shot her with an AK-47. I reported that to FR, then got a report of the actual wound damage and bullet path. Minutes later I got a correction that the wounds were caused by 9mm rounds, so I posted a correction.
It was some minutes after that that I got a report that a 9mm semi-automatic pistol had been recovered and that the assassin blew up after the crowd grabbed him.
Unclear whether the assassin blew himself up or was blown up by remote control by a one of the other two assassins.
I think he blew himself up because Bhuttos vehicle carried RF jammers to prevent remote signal or cell phone usage near her vehicle. The assassins likely knew that.
Also, the three assassins were operationally independent and carrying bombs, looking for an opening, none in control of the other.
For the record, she was not in a jeep but a white armored Land Rover and was wearing kevlar.
Finally, Bhutto suffered from terminal arrogance. That along with Musharraf’s refusal to let her have western security forces (that would have prevented this) caused her death.
Why is al qeada claiming credit? And who says al qeada wouldn’t use a gunman? There was also a bomb that went off that is al qeada’s trademark. The two looked pretty close to each other in the crowd too. Maybe, al qeada knew the car was protected (bomb proofed) and they sent a gunman to be sure?
