What the heck is a “fully-loaded” machine gun?

It's the one that comes with heated leather grips and a Heads-Up Display. :-)

With a collection that small, you must be a liberal. :-)

The advice of my maternal grandfather, who was a participant during the Pancho Villa raid on Columbus NM in 1916 and later homesteaded in Wyoming in the 1920s, was that one does not need more personal firearms than he can swim the nearest river with.

Of course, never mind the additional info that counting service in both world wars [Navy Cross in WWI, service on Attu in the Aleutians during WWII] he had personal equipment, trade items, spares and evaluation samples, and personal war trophies numbering around three dozen, plus at least another dozen favoured select pieces of his own. the ammunition he stockpiled was pretty hefty as well, and the nearest major dry-season river was about sixty miles away. The old fella did not at all heed his own advice, though there's clearly a grain of good sense to it.

You're slacking, Jeff. I live in Colorado and I have more than you do. heh heh heh

I must say I am impressed with Chuang's 29,000 rounds of ammo. I haven't been that diligent

Around the time the Million-Mom March fanatics and criminals began their political harangues, I figured I ought to obtain and stockpile at least a million rounds as a counter, though in fact their inflated numbers are nowhere near so large in truth.

I'm not there yet. But I'm still working on it. And I've easily got Chuang's 29,000 rounds beat.

I admire your diligence and farsightedness. I, and most everyone I know, obtained everything we might need in the ‘90s. I always figured that in a firefight I would never expend 1,000 rds before I was toast even in the best showing. But I have thought about those who haven’t prepared themselves. The sleepy headed and the younger generations. With that in mind I have considered a slogan; Bury two. One for yourself, one for another. (or “one for your son” Something like that.)

I can easily defend your grandfather's apparent inconsistency. In life there is the pragmatic and practical and then there's the personal. ; )

The conflict comes in when you try to drag the personal across the river. lol
But until the day comes that you have to cross it there is no virtue in denying yourself the little pleasures in life.
