BARACK OBAMA, the 46-year-old senator aiming to become Americas first black president, has stormed into a 10-point lead over Hillary Clinton in this weeks critical New Hampshire primary, threatening to send her campaign into meltdown.
The Rasmussen survey, which was carried out the day after Obamas victory in last Thursdays Iowa caucuses, put his support at 37% in New Hampshire, compared with 27% for Clinton.
The poll of 510 likely Democratic voters signalled a further swing away from the 60-year-old former first lady, whose campaign portrayed her as the inevitable victor until she was beaten into third place in Iowa.
Yesterday thousands of people queued in the snow to hear Obama speak in a high school gymnasium, reflecting the excitement building around his campaign in the run-up to the primary on Tuesday.
As the Democratic rivals prepared for a televised debate last night, Clinton accused Obama of peddling false hopes. She said: It is hard to know exactly where he stands. People need to ask that. Obama emphasised his broad objective of uniting people in pursuit of change. There is no destiny we cannot fulfil. That has been the promise of this campaign, he said.
The Clinton camp is divided about how negative to go against Obama, but the fight is getting dirtier as the stakes rise.
Melanie Levesque, a New Hampshire state representative and a member of the African-Americans For Hillary group said: I'm very concerned that you cant state [Obamas] middle name . . . and his past life. She confirmed she was referring to Hussein, Obamas Muslim middle name, and his use of drugs as a young man.
Recriminations have begun in Clintons campaign over her failure to create a forward-looking message and her reliance on Bill Clinton.
Victory in New Hampshire could give Obama the momentum to wrap up the nomination on February 5, when more than 20 states will vote.
If Obama wins the primary races and Hillary receives the nomination in spite of that, the Democrat Party will be torn to pieces. It would be the nastiest political fight in modern times.
yup , .. I saw Howard Wolfson “Sleeping-One-Off” on the #2 subway here in NYC , . . .
{ I guess his stuntdouble is catchin’ it we speak!! }
Obama should be sure to stay off small airplanes...PERIOD!
Didn’t Hillary just purchase a Guillotine?

It’s a quantum mechanics version . . . Huma carries it around in her bag. In it’s miniaturized form, it’s handy for shaping . . . carrots . . . cucumbers . . . Bobbitizing male staff . . . the like.
In it’s enlarged form, it makes a clean break with staff who know too much or have had their fill of the Bw*tch.

nobody likes you, hillary.
that is why I heartily endorse her for the nomination.
Hillary will never do that. She’s too smart to team up the first woman with the first black. My predeiction is she’ll choose Richardson for the Hispanic vote. The blacks are already on the Democrat plantation but the Hispanics are the fastest growing ethnic group. I’m assuming that she’ll be the nominee, not Obama.
Yrp, the Battle of the Left Droids will be good for us if Fred is the nominee. Fred is the anti-idiot candidate!

“Apparently these reporters dont know what superdelegates are and how they are already committed to HRC. I forgot about this aspect of the democrat nomination process (in place since the McGovern debacle) but there is a recent FR post about its relevance here. HRC has an ace up her sleeve yet to play. I doubt things will be wrapped up by Feb 5 quite as neatly as this article concludes.”
Hillary will be going for the brokered convention approach. Her super delegates will stop an Obama win and the RATS will be forced to accept Hillary as the nominee or else the Clinton machine destroys Obama.
Obama’s Mother is white.
True.
I remember when Halle Berry won an Oscar, and she said on stage she was "black" this and "black" that.
I wondered how her mom (who is white) felt at that moment.
My neighbor's mom was white (German), and his dad an African-American.
He told me it was a "horrible struggle" to him in his upbringing because of the pressure of the "black community" to force him to disavow any aspect of his mother's race. He was ashamed of her.
He said only in later life did he realize how much pain and suffering he caused her by never wanted to acknowledge her.
I asked him what changed his mind, and he told me that he finally woke up and realized the "Black Community" were a bunch of self-hating jerks, and him mom was - his mother.
I like the way you think. Excellent logic.
I care about only one thing in this election: At some point, Hillary is prevented from getting into the White House. At that moment, I believe, she and the Rapist will become the most has-been of has-beens.
Team Hillary is going to try and turn this into a "Harold Ford" moment... Gosh Politics is ugly...
The liberal MSM understands full well ... if Hildabeast gets her parties nomination they will lose in November. The tide of support the Clintonistas took for granted coming from the media has hit the high water mark and is now receding. To repeat a phrase often mentioned here at FR ... Hillary is toast.
My sentiments exactly... We can deal with the Obama empty suit issues during the general... But let’s just be done with Hillary and all things Clinton once and for all. And once the inevitable is destroyed, watch that sham marriage break up in the weeks/months that follow. Delicious!
