Supporters and critics of Indiana's law requiring voters to show a photo ID at the polls square off in oral arguments before the Supreme Court today. The heated rhetoric surrounding the case lays bare the ideological conflict of visions raging over efforts to improve election integrity.
Supporters say photo ID laws simply extend rules that require everyone to show such ID to travel, enter federal office buildings or pick up a government check. An honor system for voting, in their view, invites potential fraud. That's because many voting rolls are stuffed with the names of dead people and duplicate registrations--as recent scandals in Washington state and Missouri involving the activist group ACORN attest.
Opponents say photo ID laws block poor, minority and elderly voters who lack ID from voting, and all in the name of combating a largely mythical problem of voter fraud.

The poor and elderly who utilize services at my place of business place a high priority on state id cards. Hundreds that I know of go out of their way to keep them updated. This is a bogus argument.
BTTT!
Actually, for some who oppose this (not me by the way) the issue is the fact that ID’s cost the holder, and represent an illegal poll tax. To me the answer is that non-driver’s license ID’s be issued free of charge.
—I can’t seem to recover a link to it , but several days ago an 80-year old gentleman had a classic letter to the editor in the Las Vegas R-J wondering if the folks who are so dead set against voter ID would feel the same about ID as far as alcohol purchase—
>>How many union thugs voted, voted and voted for Hill?
How many illegal aliens were bused in to vote, vote and vote for Hill?<<
And the MSM is saying that Hillary “won” even though Obama has 12 NH delegates to Hillary’s 11. Hillary probably doesn’t deserve the delegates she has.
Wouldn’t it be easier to make the voting registration cards have pictures with them? I was thinking that last night. This is the easiest solution and the “poor” of the country will not have that excuse. Of course I would make the two campaigns pay for this service. The RNC and DNC should have to pay for something.
Also, the results don’t jive with the polls taken from those who voted. More democrats felt Obama had a better chance of being elected than Hilliarily did.
If they felt that way, why did they vote for Hilliarily. Only whining Republicans commit suicide at the polls.
Thanks for your reply and observations and your SIL’s comments and observations.
Out here, near Pelosi land, the renta mobbers have been used by the rats for decades for pseudo news events, harassment of conservatives and for illegal voting.
Many of the renta mobbers are on welfare or have some menial parttime paycheck. They love to do events like these.
I would like to refer non believers to this reply.
Thanks again, Dave
