The weather may be significant as John McCain and Mike Huckabee each try to score their second victory of the season. The final Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race showed John McCain and Mike Huckabee tied at 24%. Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson are battling for third.
Perhaps the most significant finding of the survey was that, as of Wednesday night, 41% of voters indicated that they might change their mind. That includes 7% who have not decided on anyone, 10% who said theres a good chance they could change their mind, and another 24% who said they could change their mind. Such uncertainty just three days before an election is extraordinary.

$1,197,593 out of the $1,000,000 goal!
We are going to take the Fred all the way through SC and Super Tuesday and beyond!

Fred's supporters in Michigan helped deliver a victory to Romney over McCain. Now Mitt's supporters in South Carolina need to do the same for Fred. Stopping McCain and knocking Huckabee out of the race is a common goal we all share, and only Fred can do that today in South Carolina.
Conservatives unite behind Fred and Mitt.
Fred in South Carolina, Mitt in Nevada!
United we stand, divided we fall.

I'll just support Fred no matter what state it is. I don't support liberals whether their names are Huckabee, McCain, Guiliani or Romney unless I have no other choice.

I think the most involved (and hopefully the most informed) voters will do the most to turn out in spite of any bad weather.

This could be huge. McCain poor showing in Mi was blamed on bad weather. Seems the Ind and Dems attachment to McCain was very weak. Let us hope the same holds true of SC.

I do worry about McCain in SC. He is revered by a large portion of the veteran community because he was a POW.
My own father-in-law, retired career Army, picks up the newspaper, reads the daily Iraq war death count, and curses Bush. He finds it atrocious that any military should die in a war.

No, it’s a normal reaction. Deciding among the “front-runners” is a matter of picking the lesser of the weasels, so there isn’t much enthusiasm for the job.
GO FRED!!!

This bodes well for Huckabee and maybe Thompsonwho hav ethe more motivated evangelical vote. McAmensty nay be hurt by the weather because he is trying to win the REPUBLICAN nomination by courting INDEPENDANTS and DEMOCRATS. Both typically unmotivated voters.

So that’s what they call snow in SC. LOL! Come on up to the upper midwest where it’s measured in feet and when it snows in November it will still be there in April.

Thompson will be # 1 or 2 in South Carolina. Hang on and watch. It's going to be a great ride!

The weather in South Carolina is divine intervention if there was ever such a thing. If the bad weather holds for the rest of the day, the independents, who would vote for McCain, are going to stay home. Independents, as a rule, are not broken glass voters. They rarely do anything except vote. I have never seen any of them man a phone bank or wave a sign.

LOL! I saw the video of Fred throwing this snowball at a reporter who’d thrown one at one of his folks as they came out a door. They were all having a good time.

With all due respect to your father-in-law, my Dad spent three years fighting in the Pacific. He would be more than a little puzzled at this attitude.

I remember one winter at school in Columbia, there was a sprinkling of snowd...all the FL kids who had never seen snow were on the ground wallowing around in it.

He would be more than a little puzzled at this attitude.I'm puzzled, too. I don't argue with him about it. For one thing, he's 79 years old and served two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Korea, so he's more than earned my respect. For another, he lost most of his hearing sleeping next to artillery during the Tet Offensive, so it's very difficult communicating with him.
I think he is a product of a lifetime of being "informed" by the DBM. We used to take solace in knowing that his wife, my mother-in-law, would cancel his vote out with hers, but she passed away last Christmas.
