Giuliani drops out of GOP race, backs McCain

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Rudy Giuliani dropped out of the Republican presidential campaign on Wednesday and endorsed Sen. John McCain for the nomination.

Giuliani made the announcement at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library a day after suffering a debilitating defeat in Tuesday's Florida primary.

With McCain at his side, Giuliani said the nation needed "someone who can be trusted in times of crisis."

"Obviously I thought I was that person," the former New York mayor said. "The voters made another choice."

He noted that he and McCain had managed to compete without running negative ads against each other and said, "We will remain friends." He said he would campaign for McCain as much as the Arizona senator wanted.

Once the Republican front-runner, Giuliani finished a distant third to McCain and second-place finisher Mitt Romney. After the results, Republican officials had said Giuliani would endorse McCain, who also picked up an endorsement Wednesday from California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in advance of the public announcement.

“What? Do you think Giullianni’s support will go to McRomney?”

Heavens no, but I have serious doubts that a Julie Annie endorsement is going to help the Nutty Little Bastard in any venue anywhere.

“Sheesh can Fox news be anymore exuberent? They’re having a McCain-a-gasm. The sound went out during the Guliani endorsement and you would have thought Brit Hume was having a “heidi” movie flashback”

LOL...I don’t even turn Fox on anymore - they’re part of the establishment. My news comes from the net and radio only.

there are worst things than mccain

I had to turn off Hannity today because he was trying to justify going McCain because thats where the voters seemed to be going...or some crap like that.

He wasn't saying that at all. It was a spoof. Satire. Should have finished listening to the monologue.

According to CNN, Arnold Schwarzenegger is likely to endorse McCain as well.

This is what you get when you send a RINO to do a Republican's job.

Fox New ended their relevance this election cycle.

I watch them a bit for the money shows but even those have analysts with bumps for left wing over substance commentary.

I now surf all the news outlets as equally leftist. It essentaill like the alphabets, you could watch cnn or pmsnbc or fnc and not know which channel you are watching unless you look at the call sign. They are that much homogenized.

Rush gives far better news reporting than any ofthe people on the news outlets. Sad considering he is doing a better job with radio technology that has been around alot longer than their WHOOOOSH NEWS ALERT technology.
