Question about the Illinois primary:

As I understand it from listening to WLS today, the vote for the GOP presidential candidate means NOTHING. It is the votes for their corresponding delegate that counts. True?

If so, I will vote for Fred (a feel good vote) but select the Romney delegates.

I’m looking at the Weather Channel right now and it seems OK may be getting some serious weather. Hopefully there will be enough of a break for people to get out and exercise their Constitutional rights!

I did my duty this morning and voted for romney cause i want to keep obama and hillary out.

a group of people at the front tried to give me an obama door hanger and i said ‘i’m sorry i don’t support obama’.

You did the right thing. 20 years od settling for lesser evils has left us with a rigged election and 3 trillion budget.

I don’t know about the Illinois Republican delegate count- but some states do it the way you outlined.

I wanted to add, it was PACKED! I’ve never seen it so crowded even for a presidential election. I passed another polling place on my way into work and the parking lot was also packed.

Just voted for Mitt Romney.

I also voted for all of FRED’s delegates.

Forgot that Tennessee allows you to split your vote that way. Of course the Party Central Committee will assign McCain delegates to the at large positions.

Interesting. From what we’re seeing- the lines are likely for the Dems- they are extremely enthused this year :(

Also just heard on MSNBC there are lines in the cold rain at polling places in Missouri...

I've always wondered what the delegate count is based upon?
Below is the Republican delegate allocation. I'll just give the link to the Democratic allocation. The Green Papers web site contains one of the best resources I've found for info on present and past Presidential elections....

Delegate Allocation

Republican Delegate Allocation. (Reference Rule 13 of "The Rules of the Republican Party")

I voted for Huckabee. Then I voted for 8 Huckabee delegates, 6 Fred delegates, and one uncommitted. I voted for the delegates I trust to decide things if this thing ends up brokered. They were all on Thompson’s and Huckabee’s slates, except the lone county uncommitted.

(Tennessee)
