"From my limited knowledge, investment in precious metal, real estate and valuable arts is safe during inflation period."

Thanks for thought but my long range probably isn't that long! When you are retired you have to focus on current income and reduced savings rates and inflation are obstacles.

I guess Rhodesian Boilers are heated by fires. I saw one once (a black painted barrel) suspended over an outside shower. I still plan to make one of them.

I cultivate about two acres and have two more fallow. I could probably raise a pig and beef cow on those two acres if I fed them rather than rely on the grass.
The two acres of vegetables gives us more than we can eat. I share my excess with my siblings who live in Chicago.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version)

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I guess Rhodesian Boilers are heated by fires.

Just so. Though some were adapted to steam turbines to generate electricity for farm lighting and Agric-Alert radio net equipment.

I saw one once (a black painted barrel) suspended over an outside shower. I still plan to make one of them.

Such worked reasonably well in places where the African snow shone down on them. In my Wyoming location, they're somewhat less effective when covered by three feet or more of snow.

What a beautiful animal that is.

I tell people my nom de plume “wiz” is an Indian (Native) name. It means “sound on prairie, made by buffalo”.

“do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same”

You are correct. However, it would be one heck of a stretch for an officer of the U.S. military, along with his men, to take that huge and irreversible step to willfully lead his unit into conflict against his own government and his once own military - that's a HUGE step. Btw, the U.S. military has a long tradition of faithfully serving it's civilian leadership and except for the American Civil War has never broke that tradition. As I heard Tom Clancy put it a few years back during a tv interview “the U.S. military is pathological when it comes to obeying their commander in Chief. I think he probably got it right.

Wish it weren’t so blasted cold there. New Hampshire also has a Free State Project going on there, but I don’t think it has gotten off to a rousing start.

This is also a serious movement (secession) in the south, I believe in Virginia. There was an article here last year. The group is small but serious and has annual meetings. Wish I could remember more details.

Let’s all get together on which state it’s going to be, so we can found our utopia together. I prefer Montana to the south, healthier climate and fewer bugs.

Knowing Freepers, I imagine there are also a few advocates of Distributism here; would be interesting to see what sort of “new society” we could create.

Wild, but clever. Hey, should someone start a ping list? This could get serious. We are the new pioneers!

Hmm, maybe that’s why I never trusted the guy. Thanks for the accuracy adjustment :)
