Look, I apologize. You were understandably upset that your candidate lost yesterday and being the natural born wise ass I am, I stuck my head in the Tiger’s cage and made funny faces to taunt him.

I’ll make a deal with you. If you stop hitting the report abuse button every time I post something that took me 3 weeks of my life to write and FReepers laugh and enjoy reading, I will help you make your point.

Deal?

"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is. Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path".

Your post was a trollish attack on a fellow FReeper, aside from Mike Huckabee.

Deal? I’ll cross the bridges I’ll cross, just like Billy Goat Gruff.

OK. I understand that you felt the need to defend Kurt. It’s admirable to defend your friends. I would do it too. They would do the same for me.

Couldn’t you do it by posting something profound or witty and putting me in my place? Did you really need to ping Jim, the admin, Pope Benedict, Mayor Bloomberg, the CIA, FBI, DEA?

If your cause /point is so holy, just and right, you should be able to convey it without having to resort to begging for censorship to silence the opposition.

Better to be friendly with natural friends than to make them enemies by one’s attacks.

My “natural friends” include anyone who wants “less Government and more Jesus.”

I am distrustful of people who want “more Government AND more Jesus”... (that’s you and Huck)

I completely despise and have no use for people who want “more Government and less Jesus”....(secular progressives)

Thank you for your clarification. Please explain exactly how we want more government.

I’m not sure I’m understanding your post here, unspun. But if it is the “accuse” me of being a Libertarian (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, mind you), then I must inform you that I am no longer a Libertarian. That ship sailed for me about five or six years ago, now. I’m more Libertarian than Socialist, unlike Huckabee - or so it would seem from some of his quotes and such — so I guess I’ll take your post as a compliment.

I'd say that's a good description of how I feel as well. BTW: I didn't see Eric's parody as a personal attack on a fellow freeper -- I guess I must've missed that part. But, seeing as it's no longer online, it's kind of hard for me to go back and read what exactly was said, to understand how it got interpreted as a personal attack.

Nope. You left out FReepers who live in Arkansas, who gave of their time and money to campaign for him when he was running for Lt/Gov, and then Governor.

Some people have to learn the hard way...that you don't always get what you think you're getting. We've been where you are, LOL!

Never again will I vote for Mike.

And that's that.

How do social conservatives and “values voters” want more government?

Come on, don’t feign ignorance. It is what it is. Maybe it’s for the greater good, but don’t deny it.

FCC laws to crack down on dirty words on TV. FCC to ban nipples at Super Bowl halftime shows (the chilruns can’t see that! My kids were 21 seconds old when the saw their first nipple...and they were grateful and hungry.)

Can’t have people selling sex for money (second hand semen is a killer) so lobby gubmint to stop it.

Strip clubs? People are having fun in there. Make them put clothes on, ban alcohol on the premises.

Let’s put the cards on the table and be honest and open.

Yes, yes, I know all laws “are based on morality and community standards”.

Here is the horrible post/joke that I have posted 115 times on FR over the last 4 months (never been deleted until someone hit the abuse button on this thread. Gotten 50+ chuckles and LOL's in response). People take themselves entirely too seriously. It's just a parody of a Bud Light commercial.

Bud Light presents:

"REAL MEN OF GENIUS"

...(Real men of genius)

Today we salute you, Mr. Mike Huckabee paid FR campaign shill!

...(Mr. Mike Huckabee paid FR campaign shill)

What does a liberal Republican do when he is afraid to face grass roots conservatives himself? He pays his coffee and errand boy minimum wage to do it for him

...(skim milk with three sweet and lows)

Sitting in a cubicle at campaign headquarters you search Conservative websites like the NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Salon, CNN and Daily Kos looking for favorable articles about the Huckster to post on FR

...(oooh, here's one from DU!)

Armed with nothing but talking points from Hucks' website, you attempt to convince conservatives that your candidate is not a Christian socialist or a pro-life Democrat

...(Jesus would want amnesty for illegals)

When FReepers say Huck is a fiscal liberal, algore loving environmental wacko, open border amnesty pusher, violent criminal pardoner, Jimmy Carter foreign policy appeaser, nanny state smoker banner you provide the brilliant original response...a link to his campaign website

...(copy, paste, copy, paste)

Conservatives? We don't need no stinkin' Conservatives!

...(Highly overrated)

All we need is a leftist who is pro-life, has an R next to his name, and talks about Jesus.

...(Praise the Lord!)

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Karl Rove of the blogosphere, because when a FReeper runs for office, we'll be calling you...

...(Mr. Mike Huckabee paid FR campaign shill)

Bud Light beer. Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, Missouri.

Yawn. Is that all you come (or should I say “cum?”) with?

Feel free to be a Christian champion of the fallacy of disconnecting directly harmful influences with addition, directly harmful results, if you need.

And, enjoy your childrens’ desensitization toward right and wrong, wholesomeness and iniquity, good and evil, health and sickness.

My kids are going to private Catholic parochial schools, despite the fact that I pay $14,000 in property taxes per year in the DPRNJ to fund urban school districts and their egalitarian leftist gubmint social engineering programs. I will not subject my kids to that.

Thank you for not hitting the abuse button on my re-post though. I have to plead my 21st Amendment rights....I was drunk when I posted it a 2nd time.

Much like the founding fathers, the writings of Locke, Rousseau and Adams have effected my brain. I have a healthy disdain for authoritah. I do know when to back off and how to harness it though.
