“The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: that God governs the affairs of man [Romans 8:28]. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice [Matthew 10:29], is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it [Psalms 127:1]. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel [Genesis 11:1-9].”

—Benjamin Franklin, arguing the need for prayer at the Constitutional Convention

What does this have to do with Huckabee losing his bid for president?

Good. Now go home and take limp-Dick Pryor out of the Senate and don’t bother anybody anymore.

Huckabee is upset because he said he would pull out when McCain got over 1191 in delegates, so he has to leave before he was able to get enough delegates to top Romney to gain second place status. That is why he is unhappy. He couldn’t beat out his nemesis, Romney, whom he has an irrational dislike of, before having to bow out. Too bad, so sad. Hah. Glad he couldn’t top Romney and have that satisfaction. Serves him right for his own hubris.

He should have highlighted the FairTax more.

Yes, he fought against the goofs(McCain and Romney) until now. The leading goof will not be receiving my vote if he manages to win the nomination - he still does not have enough pledged delegates to overcome his mouth and has six months to sink himself.

Yeah. Preach it. We need work horses, not show horses.
If he believes in the FAIR Tax, go win on it in Arkansas and sell it in the US Senate.

Apparently clicking on “MSNBC” in the header doesn’t bring up the video, but clicking on “msnbc.msn.com” in the “Read more” line does. Here’s the full URL:

Huckabee thinks he ran an honorable campaign. He thinks it’s okay to swipe, stab and be a viper so long as he tells a joke while he’s doing it. He thinks that taking the wind out of McCain’s sails after CPAC somehow helped the party. He declares that his campaign was more honorable than that of Romney, Paul, Thompson & Giuliani.

Somehow, not knowing when to quit is more honorable than quitting? Soaking donors’ contributions for a lost cause is honorable? Giving voters false hope (witnessed on this board) is honorable?

Huckabee makes me sick. “King Baby” — that’s who he is. All about Huck. Freeloading and putting himself in the spotlight and for what. So that the already-broke McCain is even more in debt until September.

Fifteen minutes, huh? I bet that’s longer than all the other Republican concessions combined.
