Even when it was criminal?

Used to be a crime. Now those who are under age can consent even though they are “too young” to consent.

They can even consent to someone over the age of majority if they are near in age.

And that goes for homosexuals too so what they said about Lawrence v. Texas was a lie. It wasn’t just about consenting ADULTS in private, it was for anyone. And considering the public sex homosexuals engage in and the public school recoginition of homosexuals, it wasn’t about being in private either.

Slippery slope. Don’t be surprised by the results at the bottom in the gutter.

I always liked cleaning the shotgun on the front porch :-)

LoL- when my wife and I first started dating, my future Father in Law and Brother in Law took me skeet shooting, freaked my wife out that they were taking me out w/ shotguns. The whole dynamic changed though when I out-shot both of them.

“She was developing pictures last month when she spotted some familiar faces — teenage girls she has known since they were in kindergarten — in an X-rated spring break adventure.”

Now, I realize parents can’t control everything their kids do, as we can’t be everywhere with them, but sending your kids off on a “spring break adventure” is a bad idea. When my kids are that age, I will not be funding or allowing any spring break or poorly chaperoned senior trips. I can’t control these things once they’re of legal age, living elsewhere, and making their own money, but until all of those apply, they’re living by our rules. They may not like me so much for a few years in high school, but I can live with that. Wow, I sound like my parents ... scary.

Of course, the “rebellion” is a challenge to do “more” of whatever everyone else is doing.

Whether you are a sports star, pop star, movie star, or “most popular” it is all about being known these days.

ABC Family’s parent company is DISNEY, so in a sense that was A Disney channel. Walt is doing summersaults in his grave.

My daughter recently turned 15 and on her bday, she wanted to invite her new crush to our home. Well, she also has two older brothers and three older cousins, one who is a young Marine. They were also at her b’day party; all five of them. They got wind that she had extended the boy an invite and they gathered in our back yard to wait for him. I allowed the fellow to come because there was parental supervision; however, I did not realize “the boys” had schemed to interrogate and basically terrify the kid. The boy came over and they all hung out in the back yard for a while...together. I’ve been told the young fellow that my daughter invited is now too scared to even glance her way. I’ve been told he’s also warned others. Our phone doesn’t ring so much lately.

Ah... Memories of my Senior Prom in '87.

My prom date naked in our hotel room, her dress crumpled on the floor and her nubile body writhing on the bed in sexual gratification.

And me. Down in the hotel lobby, hanging out with my friends.

Good times!

"...sending your kids off on a “spring break adventure” is a bad idea."

You are so right. Did people learn nothing from what happened during a poorly chaperoned "spring break adventure" in Aruba?

No kidding. If Walt could come back and take a look at his company, he wouldn’t recognize it.

I am a guardian appointed by the court. The girls in my custody will not date outside of parental supervision until they are 18. Tough.

If the children and the parents involved don’t think it was a big deal, is it really anyone else’s concern?

I prefer to call it just plain seeing things how they actually are, vice cosmopolitan and worldly.

and you know, i think most everyone on this thread, myself included, live in the real world, see things for how they really are and just LAMENT the fact. that’s all. i have teenagers, i know very well what the situation is these days as compared to when i was a teenager. and it is sad.

Everything changes, our morals aren’t the same as they were 200yrs ago or even 50 yers ago, and they will probably be different 100 yrs from now. It’s just the way of the world.
