McCain was very good!!
Nice
I was happily surprised at the audience’s strong applause several times during the appearance!
I thought he was excellent. However, the local NBC affiliate took it upon themselves to put a rolling message on top of the screen that announced the times and days of emergency broadcasting tests beginning with May 2008. Yes, May. The messages ran over McCain’s face the whole time he was on with Leno. Finally, I switched to the HD station and they were not rolling there. This is the Philadelphia market. I was furious.
“Will there be a McCain girl?”
“Bea Arthur.”
Funny!
The Mac?
::snickers::
when he brought up drilling the audience went wild, it was amazing.
That was a very funny line.
I wonder who picks the travelling music. When McCain was introduced and took the stage, the band played "Everyday People" by Sly Stone.
He RIPS Rumsfeld in the second video. Good for him. I agree with him. I never liked Rumsfeld. He was a smug, arrogant SOB who damn near lost us the war. GWB held onto him as long as he had to, I think. Mark the turning point of the war, and see if it isn’t Rumsfeld’s exit.
I didn’t watch it live, but I just watched the clips. McCain was terrific!! Very down-to-earth, very unaffected and very funny.
His remarks about Rumsfeld were very strong, and exactly what he’s said all along. At the time he first said these things, I wasn’t ready to hear it. Now, I’m entertaining the idea that he’s got a point.
I liked his comment when Leno brought up the houses. “I lived for five and half years without a chair, and slept on a cement floor.”
Me too. I was shocked.
