There's one good reason Gwen Ifill, the host of the PBS show Washington Week, is moderating the vice-presidential debate: she has a forthcoming book about Barack Obama (and other black Democrats) called The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.
Ifill presents Obama and the others as the idealistic successors of Martin Luther King: "This book is about a generation of people who took seriously the achievements that their parents fought for. They knew that Martin Luther King did what he did so they can do what theyre doing, and they decided to follow through."

Excuse me, but but seems the only Republicans on your “fair” committee are deceased.
Her research was probably pages from her book. The GOP just keeps taking it and taking it. Somehow this needs to be put out there where the folks who watch the debates will see/hear it. But, that won’t likely happen.
This is sick....
And have you see the cover of Essence Magazine and the Obama's on the cover with the HUGE article inside that GWENhas written about the terrible troubles with race the Obama's have had in this campaign....THIS IS OUT NOW--SEPTEMBER EDITION....and Gwen visited their HOME to interview them and write the article....
THIS IS INCESTUOUS AND WRONG
Let's have the candidates go after one another. Let them decide which questions to ask of their opponents. Let the MSM be relegated to being timekeepers to ensure that each candidate receives equal time.
“Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: 202-872-1020”
That phone number is BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! LOL
Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, George Steffie—the mainstream media have already long taken professional, hard-core partisans from the Democrat Party and the left and elevated them as august, impartial media poobahs.
“Personally I think this is pointless and hollow issue to pursue. Ifill moderated the Cheney-Edwards debate and was perfectly fine. She has earned a rep for being moderate which is why the McCain camp approved her in the first place. All this crying to the refs is going to hurt us with only 34 days to go.”
You have been drinking too much koolaid again. Ifill works for PBS which is proven to be heavily liberal hacks feeding at the federal trough. Ifill didn’t have biased book favoring Edwards during that debate. McCain’s camp is reported to have been unaware of the book at the time Ifill was approved to be the moderator. There is not 34 days until the Palin-Biden debate. There is actually not enough time to replace Ifill. There is time to expose her bias, possibly by a special announcement at the begining of the debate. Since there is the possibility Ifill has leaked her questions to Biden, they could be released to the public in advance.
Ms Ifill stands to significantly benefit from her book sales. It would be appropriate for her to announce proceeds would be be given to a legitament charity. That does not mean ACORN or any other liberal cause. Perhaps one of the wounded warriors programs would be appropriate.
Finally, Ms Ifill should resign or be fired from PBS. She has proven her true bias that discredits her future reporting. Maybe she can become one of those “community organizers”. There seems to be good money in that sector.
Oh, and good for Drudge for featuring this front and central.
Yes, collectively, they are. For many years I have characterized the dummycrats as the party of evil and the ahpubnicans as the party of stupid.
Clean, Articulate Black ping?
I can’t - my work blocks that website
if I send it to you can you post it? I think it is kind of funny
...on the condition that Jerome Corsi moderate the next presidential debate. That should balance things out....
