In Cuba, it is called a "Committee for the Defense of the Revolution". Each block has a member of the CDR living on it whose job it is to be the Government's stoolpigeon for that block.

If you say anything against the Government to anybody that gets back to the CDR stoolpigeon, you get a 3:00 AM knock on your door by the national secret Police.

If we're going to have a police state, I'd rather have the military rather than that bunch of 0bama hoodlums that came in chanting in the video. At least the military has the UCMJ (not that 0bama would abide by any rules - including the Constitution).

This Secret Police would serve two purposes - Beside providing 0bama "muscle" to enforce his edicts, providing "make work" jobs for his kindred.

I knew someone whose nephew was one of these guys. She was deeply ashamed of him. Fortunately, her son had escaped to Miami long ago and she was finally able to be reunited with him and his family by going through Spain.
