Vanities used to be well thought out, researched and/or funny and somewhat rare. Now the vanities consist of whatever crap pops in someone's head and they are drowning out whatever news is being posted.
I'm not the forum police, but please add you're rant, joke or pearl of wisdom to an ongoing thread.
Also maybe JimRob should make it a rule that you have to contribute actual $$ to FR before being able to post a vanity.
How are they hurting you? I’ve noticed that a few FReepers here checked into your vanity to complain about the amount of same. Don’t they realize that by posting they are bumping it to the top?
Let us vent our anger and please tell us how you are being affected by this.

That could finally reveal that James Carville and Paul Begala are Reptilians, just one of many alien species that walk amongst us. Oh my. ;-)
I am thinking too, as what we all shall do, but I for one I am sick of scrolling on endless vanities that are not worth 2 cents in the broad scheme of things.
What if we just start a rant thread?

The “Vanity:” tag was prepended. It seems to me that doing research on BHO’s team might seem to be a very worthy goal and something quite useful. And, it’s definitely much more useful than simply linking to the MSM and then that being followed by a series of “me too” comments, 10 megs pictures of cats, and the like.
Was that a “Vanity”, or an attempt at distributed reporting in order to find out whether anyone in BHO’s team has “interesting” links?
Yep, maybe if you had to pay $5 per vanity that would do the trick.

From reading some of these vanities today it is apparent we need a Free Republic for children site.
We need more vanities, they absolutely drive the DUmmies insane.

Hell, maybe we need a separate forum for anything not actually published somewhere (besides a blog, because, and you know who you are, your blog is not a freaking news source). And, yes, I know there is chat. But a place that is nothing but vanities, and where ANY vanity not approved by admin is posted. Post a vanity in news and you get a 2 day time-out.
Wanna bet people wouldn’t post them if they weren’t on the front page? Nobody would read them. That’s for damn sure.
