WASHINGTON (AFP) — A female Chinese graduate student has been decapitated by a fellow student at Virginia Tech, the scene of the worst school shooting in US history in 2007, police said Thursday.
At approximately 7:00 pm Wednesday (0000 GMT Thursday), Xin Yang, a 22-year-old graduate student from Beijing, was killed at an Au Bon Pain cafe on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, university officials said.
They added that emergency contact records suggest that Yang and the student who murdered her, Haiyang Zhu from Ningbo, China, knew each other.
According to officials, witnesses said Zhu, 25, attacked Yang with a knife. "There were seven witnesses in the cafe. There had been no argument, no shouting" when the young woman was attacked, said Virginia Tech spokesman Mark Owczarski, confirming that Yang and been decapitated.

What an awful story. I would imagine it would be fairly difficult to decapitate someone, I mean, you would have to go thru the spine. Maybe it’s not that hard, but it seems like it would be. At least with a knife.
I saw a close-up video of a jihadi decapitation a few years ago. I want to tell you, I was sick for awhile.
I have absolutely avoided seeing those, because I don’t think I would ever be able to sleep at night.

People really need to start arming themselves and carrying a firearm with them when they go out. The world has gone nutso and like the “messiah” says, it’s only going to get worse!
Is he possibly a Chinese Muslim? I don’t think decapitation is a common Chinese habit, is it? I’m guessing he was a jilted or offended lover.
VT no doubt has a lot of Asian students, it’s probably a moderately high-pressure, competitive environment to begin with, and many Asian students are under a lot of pressure from their families to excel, get super high-paying jobs, etc. The latter things are all good things, but sometimes I think parents can get a little carried away.

Granting that it may have been too late to help her, I wonder if anyone even tried?
Could no one intervene?
I wonder if video games have anything to do with this. I am not familiar with games but aren’t a lot of them very violent and feature decapitations?
