Apparently, this beheading barbarity isn't limited to the Islamic world. Are crimes of this sort common in communist China today?

Even if this is just an isolated incident, there are other reasons why we should not be inviting Chinese students to study at American universities.

killed at an Au Bon Pain cafe... Yang and the student who murdered her, Haiyang Zhu from Ningbo, China, knew each other.
Au Bon Pain means "good bread".

Yes, I knew that, because I took French back in the days when American schools educated kids.

Au Bon Pain happens to be a big chain of coffee shops / restaurants. Don't know if they're national or not, but there are certainly enough of 'em along the Atlantic seabord.

I’ve eaten at an Au Bon Pain — not far from (actually, across the street from) FBI headquarters. That was a while back though...

The almost absolute blackout of info re this case; while it should not be astounding, giving MSM proclivities; is nonetheless, astounding. This is afterall, a 'repeat' of violence at this campus; and the brutal, horrifying end this student met at the hands of this murderer, alone; would normally make this a huge story.

But yet; NO fricking story here. . .it is disgusting the level of 'non-engagement' this Media chooses per it's PC, and of course, it just does not serve their purposes to go there; especially when Obama is in process of making life better for terrorists-who-behead. . .and all those, who 'would'; if they could.
