[President] Not Amused By VP Biden's Joke About Chief Justice Roberts

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Vice President Joe Biden formally apologized for his inauguration gaffe about Justice Roberts' flubbing the oath of office, a joke which did not seem to amuse President Obama. A Biden press aide confirmed that the VP did make a call to the chief justice, although details were not disclosed.

"It was a private conversation. I do not know the content of it and cannot characterize it," Biden Press Secretary Elizabeth Alexander said, adding later that they spoke and "had a good conversation." The joke-gone-bad is nothing new for Vice President Biden, whose outspoken ways have earned him the respect of colleagues, but also have gotten him into hot water.

Biden's crack at Roberts came when the VP was to swear in senior executive staff at a White House ceremony after having already given the oath to newly confirmed Cabinet secretaries. When Obama reminded him that he had only done the one group and hadn't done the second yet, Biden quipped, "My memory is not as good as Chief Justice Roberts'."

Although many in the room laughed and groaned, President Obama stood stone-faced and silent.

I want to see Obama extremely disamused. I want to see him bent over, pleading for mercy.

There is one thing I have to admit secretly enjoying that is the STFU face that Obama gets whenever Biden opens his mouth.

It’s hilarious!

Biden had to apologize because he embarassed ‘the one.” And Bambi should be embarassed by his selection of Biden.

Indeed.

The swearing-in mixup doubtless is a sore point to Obama -- imagine how many times he probably fantasized it, dreamed about it, practiced it... all gone awry in a second of confusion.

OTOH, Obama ought lighten up a little. It is what it is.

And he's the one who chose Biden -- he'll have to live with the gaffes to come for years.

Biden is an idiot for not realizing the ramifications of making such a joke about the Chief Justice AND his boss.

Even in a piece like this, the MSM managed to get their positive spin out:

"whose outspoken ways have earned him the respect of colleagues"

We wouldn't want to go too far, would we?

When will Obama ask for Biden’s resignation so that he can choose who he really wanted for VP?

Any ideas who that might be?

“President Obama stood stone-faced and silent.”

1. Don’t embarrass the boss
2. Don’t embarrass the boss
3. Don’t use the Boss’s one liners
