The Winter War (Alaska) - Apparently, Obama Permanent Campaign (OPC) minions at The Washington Post have received orders from the White House to minimize the damage caused by repeated revelations of Tax Cheating by The Tax Cheat Party.
Attempting to kill two birds with one slimy, excrement-ridden stone, James V. Grimaldi (D-WaPo) (who proved himself to be a reliable Obama footsoldier during the Fall campaign 2008 battles) has written a smear piece on Governor Sarah Palin which attempts to paint Palin as a tax cheat of a similar stripe as his party's Innumerable Tax Cheats.
Sorry, Grimaldi - we ain't buying it.
Sure would be nice if the Republicans had whole staffs of "reporters" on retainer to put out lies smearing the opposition...
Disgusting.
They are REALLY scared!
No-story Palin hit piece.
I've decided to call the Obama media campaign against Palin "The Winter War", firstly in honor of the unequal fight between Finland and the Soviet Union (1939-40), and secondly because it's mostly centered in Alaska.
Pretty à propos, considering that the Soviet Union and Obama's media juggernaut are both Commie to their Red Core...
??? Are you talking about the fact that Grimaldi is making a hot batch of media Stone Soup out of some inconsequential garbage thrown his way out of Alaska?
Yep.
It’s been obvious for a while that the media was attempting to neuter her before she could rally Republicans for ‘12.
Let's make it clear. She needs to rally Conservatives, NOT Republicans, to conservative values.
Conservatism is an airliner...the Republican party is the fuel. You get NOWHERE without the vehicle. Conservatives are just a bunch of people talking to each other without the party.
I'm sick of the brain-dead whiners who spend all their time trashing the GOP. It's what we've got, work to make it better or shut up.
Make no mistake about it - quite a few people in the MSM really do feel that they are running the country and this sort of story is very much a part of that. Palin really got to these guys because she is different enough - rural, Western, populist, very much outside of the current political elite - that they're frightened that should she actually manage to come to office they might have to go back to being journalists, far more so than with the despised but connected Bush. They'll fight that to their last croissant.
What part of the article is lies? If Palin didn’t claim per diem expenses while staying in her own home, as stated in the article, she should refute the article, because so far, Palin said that in fact she did claim the per diem while staying in Wasilla.
Which lawyers? Which liberal groups, Mr. Grimaldi?
Do tell.
Maybe Greta will pick the story up and get some research done on it. She's Sarah's biggest fan in the media, and I, for one, am glad she's willing to help Sarah.
OK Deb. You get buttwipes like Tom Davis (ex Virginia Congressman, big time RINO, and leader of the “Republican Main Street Coalition”), Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and Arlen Sphincter betraying the party over and over again, and Davis wanting to move the party “to the center”: read: conservatives sit down and shut up. Lindsay Grahamnesty now wants the banks nationalized.
If that is the direction the Stupid Party wants to go, no thanks.
No matter how you sugarcoat s#!t, I ain’t bitin’.
I will work on making the party better if and only if, and when, as a party, they signal a move toward conservatism.
Michael Steele ain’t it. Kapiche?
The House GOP (what’s left of it) not supporting Spendulous does give me hope.
That's it, throw those names around and talk down to people. News flash, without true conservatism, and the associated conservatives that you call "brain dead whiners", the GOP is/has been/will be sunk. You want more elections like 2006 and 2008, trash conservatives. Don't point out the mess that moving away from the conservative values that the party used to espouse has caused. Put up middle of the road, get along republicans, like John McCain, Jim Talent, et al, and you will get the candidate and election results that you deserve.
The Christians and other conservatives who stayed home because McCain wasn't conservative enough are responsible for every Obama victory and for handing our country over to the Snowes and Specters.
When the prima donnas who call themselves "conservative" decide to get off their whiny asses and take back the party, it will be there...unless the malcontents succeed in destroying it.
Deb: Conservatism is an airliner...the Republican party is the fuel. You get NOWHERE without the vehicle. Conservatives are just a bunch of people talking to each other without the party.
We need both. Otherwise, we have something analogous to the GOP/Perot split, and the Tax Cheat Party Wins Forever.
Deb's got conservative & Republican cred going back to before the impeachment wars.
You people are ridiculous.
I was quite careful not to claim that the article was "lies" - I said it was a "smear piece", designed to paint Palin as a "tax cheat", like the innumerable crowd of Democrat Tax Cheats (but I repeat myself, since Democrat=Tax Cheat).
I merely opined in the attachment that it would "sure would be nice if the Republicans had whole staffs of "reporters" on retainer to put out lies smearing the opposition..." - referring in general to the majority of Obama's Department of The Main Stream Media.
BTW - I'll give you a tip: find out who Grimaldi's editor is, and you'll probably find out the White House or DNC conduit...
If Palin didnt claim per diem expenses while staying in her own home, as stated in the article, she should refute the article, because so far, Palin said that in fact she did claim the per diem while staying in Wasilla.
The purpose of the article is to paint her as a "tax cheat", and nothing more. If you don't believe me, read the comments attached to the article @ the WaPo.
