No, he’s talking about ANY pistol bullet that can pentrate a police vest. If its ever been chambered in a pistol, it’s a pistol round. You know, common pistol rounds like .223, 7.62x39, 30-30 wcf, 7mm’08, 308, 22 mag, etc.
You might not realize it, but in their mind, these all qualify as pistol rounds that can penetrate a vest.
Here’s a factoid for all the gun control liberal loons: Contrary to what they may think, the US is NOT the nation with the highest ratio of weapons per household. The two countries at the top of this category are Afghanistan and Yemen. For every Afghan born, there is an average of 1.5 weapons for him. One of my professors is from Afghanistan; he had 8 members in his family and 11 guns, including 3 Kalashnikovs.

Under current law, no. But under the definition that the gun grabber want, that is the ability to penetrate a standard police vest, bet your bootee.
There has been extensive support for a penetrability exclusion by legisaltors and anti-gun groups. We’ll see what winds up in the various bills introduced over the next 4 to 8 years.

But they already have the AP ammo for pistols banned. So talk of such a ban is moot. They will next look at further limiting additional firearms through limiting ammunition.
A rifle is far more deadly than a pistol.
They might be surprised at the speed with which non-stamped bullets are turned in - I'm guessing at a speed anywhere from 850-3500 fps.

I think that it is not going out on a limb to state that most Texas LEOs will simply refuse to enforce the law, and then only when someone actually does something wrong with a gun on the prohibited list. Most of the ones I know HAVE such guns, and not only won't enforce the law but will actively fight it as victims. Hell, Texas may secede over something like this. Let's see Eric enforce his laws against a state with 40 million guns.
I am not. Rights are immutable, and apply in every place at every point in time. My grandfathers could buy them over the counter with no background check, no tax stamp and no CLEO sign-off. Why am I denied a right that my grandfathers had?
I think that the Volstead Act did that (though maybe not the felony part). We all know how well that worked out.
You know, we may actually end up liking this bill. You see, just as people wilfully violated the Volstead Act and thereby created a large market for "illicit" manufacturers and distributors, so would this proposed bill. And you know, if owning a single-shot .223 handgun is a felony, then you might as well go for broke and buy a full-auto Uzi or a drop-in fun switch for your AR. What're they going to do, put you away for a felony?
Of course, there's also the rule that says "the first one is expensive, the rest are free." This goes for imaginary felonies like owning a gun that some micro-dicked AG proposed, and for actual felonies like (hypothetically speaking, OF COURSE) performing some act of violence against some person who attempted to enforce a clearly unconstitutional law. Methinks that there will be a lot of both. Oh, and the distributors will be those very same Mexican drug gangs that micro-dick purports to be targeting.

I submit that the hypothetical target list will be a larger set, to include also those that proposed and passed such a clearly unconstitutional law, and those that cheered them on.

Unfortunately, should this come to pass, such hypothetical thinking implies a target-rich environment... For both sides.

Sure enough. By rights that odious part of the US Code should be ruled unconstitutional, and manufacturing of full autos and happy switches would begin in earnest.
Don't worry, though: economics and other scientific laws have a way of defeating politicians. Supply will come from elsewhere, kind of like the case was with alcohol and is with drugs. Demand MUST be satisfied.
So can a rock, especially if the target is distracted by a beautiful and apparently easy woman. Ban guns? Go ahead, a determined band of patriotic and liberty-loving citizens will get what they need in a thousand different ways.
Under our system of government, the government has only the powers derived from the consent of the governed (that may look familiar; I'm not the author). If I am banned from posessing automatic weapons and grenades, then the government cannot derive from me that power.
The principle scales up - it goes for 50-megaton H-bombs too.
