Report: Bristol Palin and Fiancé Split
TODAY ^ | 03.11.09 | STAFF

The pair, parents to 2-month-old son Tripp, broke up 'a few weeks ago'

Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up, two sources tell PEOPLE.

The split happened "a few weeks ago," according to a source close to the couple, but it's unclear what precipitated it. "It was a mutual thing," adds the source.

"It kind of just happened," says the source, referring to the split. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp."

Despite the breakup, Levi still sees the couple's son. Levi's dad, Keith Johnston, told PEOPLE recently that his son is a devoted and "proud father."

Bristol, meanwhile, is attending Wasilla High, taking a class to supplement course work she is completing at home. She also is considering enrolling in college next fall and studying nursing.

So I’ll ask the same unanswered questions again:
Have Bristol and Levi’s actions harmed society in any way?

No, and it takes a genuinely unbalanced individual to believe they have harmed society.

Someone stole Bristol Palin’s baby? This is news to me. I consider babies a gift from God. IF someone stole Bristol’s baby...they should give it back IMMEDIATELY!

You’re obsessing over Bristol in a heavy handed way. You’re fascinated by it, and you condemn her with gusto. A sure sign on an empty life, and an empty mind.

Sorry, I must not have made myself clear. You are a POS for picking on a teenager who’s mother happens to be a governor.
You are lower than trash, you are an ass, etc. Clear enough for you this time?

Thank you for your honesty.

Assuming that, as a highly educated and expert Catholic, you do believe though in the immorality of fornication, could you favour us with your analysis of the reasons for its immmorality? Just because God arbitrarily said “don’t do it?”

I will in the interim pray that the negative social consequences of illegitimacy and single family households do not in fact impress themselves more palpably upon you or anyone about whom you care.

Yes; the froth and spittle came through quite clearly.

This teenager went on national television to declare chastity unrealistic and I’m the “POS” for objecting? At what age will she be old enough to refute?

Any other insults you’d care to shriek before you turn purple and faint?

So illegitimacy is without social consequence?

It’s a simple question and really clarifies everything when one puts their answer on the table.

What punishment are you suggesting for Bristol’s sin? Crucifixion?

Is it not clear that your insults do not impress me?

You’re still here, and have spent far more time and energy attacking me than I have Bristol, so I would be forced to assume your obsession with me is equally if not more unhealthy.

You sound like Fred Phelps with all your “retribution” talk. Either that or you’re a former staffer or some lobbyist in DC.

I believe my list started with a public repudiation of her previous statements about chastity, along with an acknowledgement of the high social costs of single parenthood as seen not only in criminal statistics, but also in the general weakening of family formation and the consequent loss of understanding of the importance of the married family as the cornerstone of our political system.

But you could search it down earlier on the thread if you really cared.

I have no interest in continuing this discourse, as you have demonstrated your obtuseness and your narrow mind, for all to see. Go ahead and do your own theological research.

I love having genuine discussions with those that are able to think clearly and independently, and grow beyond their prejudices and their shallow thinking.

Out of wedlock births are a bad thing, but it didn't start (and it won't end) with Bristol Palin. Going to extraordinary steps to suggest that she harmed the social fabric is silly and immature.

The word is restitution, not retribution. I can link you to a dictionary if the big words are too confusing.

Restitution is not punishment, it’s expecting people to try to clean up their messes.

Well Golly Philo! I hate to admit this, I really do...but *I* am not without sin. I can’t cast the stones that you appear to want to cast. And I can’t do some iron-hammer number on Sarah Palin because her child messed up.

But YOU, YOU must be some humdinger of a big non-sinner there! Why don’t you just do what you really want to do and reveal to us the punishment that Bristol and her mother (as guilty by association) should face.

Also: When you plan to do that whole walking on non-frozen water thing you must be capable of and turning the water into wine (especially THAT)...make sure you let me know where and when, because I want to be there and take pictures.

I’ll make sure to post the pictures here!!

Do you not understand that your bullying insults are among my primary motives for not walking away?

The mere prospect that you might think such abuse worked and continue deploying it as a routine element of your conversational style gives me incentive to continue entirely independent of the facts of the case, which have not changed at all despite your insults.

Why do you bother to write when you clearly don’t or won’t read?

I am not arguing for punishment; I am arguing that socially corrosive conduct ought to be made good through some form of restitution.

I am not claiming infallibility or perfection, only maintaining that sin almost always has consequences beyond the principal perpetrators.

Asking people to help clean up their messes is not equivalent to stoning someone in the marketplace.

“Why do you bother to write when you clearly don’t or won’t read?”

Because I’m badgering you and it’s FUN!

“I am not arguing for punishment; I am arguing that socially corrosive conduct ought to be made good through some form of restitution.”

Oh come on, punishment=restitution.

This would be like me saying, “I’m not arguing that you should eat, I’m arguing that you should take oral nourishment somehow.”
