Anyone for a small irony? Margaret Sanger hated abortion
This I find thought provoking. How did Planned Parenthood come to become so pro-abortion, and why? Was Sanger's legacy "co-opted?" And how could a eugenicist oppose what to her must have been a useful procedure?
O'Sullivan's First Law:
All organizations that are not actually right-wing will over time become left-wing.

O'Sullivan was right, but his article announcing his law lamely cited a few examples and just left it. The reason his law is true lies in the Newspeak definitions of ideological labels:

  • objective: reliably promoting the interests of Big Journalism. (usage: always applied to journalists who are members in good standing; never applied to anyone but a journalist)

  • liberal: see "objective," except that the usage is reversed: (usage: never applied to journalists; always applied to anyone but a journalist)

  • progressive: see "liberal." (usage: same as for "liberal."

  • moderate: see "liberal." (usage: same as for "liberal."

  • centrist: see "liberal." (usage: same as for "liberal."

  • conservative: rejecting the idea that journalism is a higher calling than providing food, shelter, clothing, fuel, and security; adhering to the dictum of Theodore Roosevelt that:
"It is not the critic who counts . . . the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena
(usage: applies to people who - unlike those labeled liberal/progressive/moderate/centrist, cannot become "objective" by getting a job as a journalist, and probably cannot even get a job as a journalist.)(antonym:"objective")

  • "right-wing": see, "conservative."

Notice that "objective," "moderate," and "centrist" are classical virtues and are positive labels; likewise "liberal" and "progressive" are American virtues and are positive labels - at least to the extent that their Newspeak definitions have not been realized by the public. OTOH "conservatism" is not an American virtue - drilling for oil or developing genetically modified corn, IOW progress, is something American "conservatives" favor.

Why Broadcast Journalism is
Unnecessary and Illegitimate

When you found a radical agency, you cannot expect it to retain a conservative policy preference just because it was yours. That would be doubly conservative, and therefore completely out of character.

OK, I appreciate your thesis and your work, and not leaste, your formatting, but I was wondering if there was anything in the way of documented positions.

Clinton then, in good Obamanista fashion, offered a gratuitous swipe at the Bush administration. “During my time as First Lady I helped to create the Campaign Against Teenage Pregnancy ... and ... the rate of teen pregnancy went down. I’m sad to report that after an administration of eight years that undid so much of the good work, the rate of teenage pregnancy is going up.”
I really want proof of this.
Your skepticism is well-founded, but your concentration apparently lapsed before you got to the succeeding paragraph:
Politicians always simplify, but this is truly ludicrous. Teen pregnancy down under the Clintons but then up under Bush? Sorry, the statistics do not reflect that. According to the Guttmacher Institute (the research arm of Planned Parenthood), teen pregnancy reached an all-time high in 1988 and 1989 and began trending down thereafter, reaching its lowest recent point in 2005 -- past the midpoint of the Bush years. It has been going up since then.
However, from those statistics I could make the case that Reagan may have done something right to get that statistic heading in the right direction - and that something happened later to reverse that trend. And the timing would suggest that that change happened - or at least continued - during the Bush Administration.
