Have you every met a person who personifies all the is good in America? In Olney that person is Clyde who passed away last Friday at age 89.
Soon after getting back from the war, Clyde started Olney Electric and joined the Sandy Spring Legionnaires where he has been a member for the past 63 years.
Clyde also started the Olney Chamber of Commerce in 1964. During the Chambers 40th Anniversary I had the honor of Clyde being my Honorary Co-President. We did a lot that year to celebrate the Chambers 40th.
He is a Charter member (1946) of the Sandy Spring Lions. When the Sandy Spring Lions grew too large, he became a Charter member and a founder of the Olney Lions Club in 1972. Clyde has the distinction of being a Charter Member of two clubs, rare in any organization.
And on Olneys 100th FReep, Clyde was there (above pic). At 87 he was out FReeping with us in the cold and snow.
It is hard to find a better man than Clyde. He will be always remembered. May he rest in peace.
What better tribute to Clyde than to have 5 of our 9 patriots today in Olney belong to his Legion Post.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Bob (USMC - Vietnam) on our left flank. Those are traffic counters on the hill behind Bob. Kinda reminds me of the first battle of the Civil War where washington residents came out to watch the battle. BELOW RIGHT: Legionnaires Glenn (USMC - WWII) and Halsey (USMC - Korea), with me on our right flank. If this was a fire fight we couldnt have better protected flanks.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Cindy_True_Supporter (Army, early 70s) holding down our center position while calling in reinforcements and close air support. BELOW RIGHT: Cindy_True_Supporter with reinforcements.
BELOW: Legionnaire [Mrs] T (Army, early 70s) - pic from an earlier FReep.
BELOW LEFT: Enforcers, err, reinforcements Fraxinus and Eager. BELOW RIGHT: Reinforcementee GunsAreOK.
BELOW: And of course Lurker Bill, always faithful.
And our supporters:
Just a quick note on the moonbats . Their numbers dropped by half today, to 5. Looks like the high they got at their Peace Conference several weeks back is finely wearing off. Must have been some good stuff.

God rest his soul and comfort his family and friends.
RIP.
A personal Thank You for your tributes.
Clyde has an email account which I’m sure his wife and family will be looking to make sure no unfinished business of Clyde’s is forgotten. I’m going to link this thread to an email for the family to see.
[Mr] T
It was my honor and pleasure to honor this hero. God bless his family!
