Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.

Playing both sides of the fence has made him very rich... and all he worries about now is staying that way.
In his bloated head we are ALL pinheads...and he is the patriot(or is that patriarch?).
The mere fact that he gets the ratings he gets is more a testament to the quality of his competition(and television in general), which fortunately for him is even more weak and pathetic than he and his program.
What gives O’Reilly the authority to “hold accountable” people exercising their right of free speech? I don’t play cop for the idiots expressing their views at the DU or DailyKOS. I don’t really care what O’Reilly says on his show. Why is it his job to police people at FR?

The words “Elitist Gasbag” might not scare BOR as much as the words “Glenn Beck” do, but both explain the reason for his falling popularity.
My goodness, if these were the only ‘offensive’ posts Mr O’Reilly could find here, or on ANY forum site, he’s not trying very hard.

BOR's powder puff line of questioning was too much for me to stomach after about 3 minutes. Softball city. Thankfully Glenn Beck is conducting real and ongoing investigation of that criminal enterprise.

BOR is a POS. I do not see the appeal. He’s just another ego looking for a camera or a microphone to stand in front of.

You're not missing anything. I've watched a few segments here and there. I heard about the Acorn segment being advertised, but he didn't really have anything the first night, so I figured he probably didn't have much the second night either and didn't watch it. I've probably watched less than an hour of his show in the last six months. I don't know where he gets the ratings. I can only stand him for a few minutes. This fight with Jim and Michelle is enough to make sure I don't waste my time. I remember the last time he singled out Free Republic as a hate site.
You know what probably really frosts Bill O'Reilly about FR?

Yes, but his last question salvaged the interview. He asked them if they would open their books, and their answer was "no."
O'Reilly said that, as taxpayers, we're entitled to know where our money is going.
He's right. But he was very, very soft on them. The most embarrassing segment was when he glossed over the fact that 200 different organizations use the New Orleans address. The ACORN CEO said that it was their "former headquarters," and O'Reilly just let it go.
I can't think of a one good reason why 200 organizations would use a single physical address as a mail drop.

I certainly agree with that. Then I wouldn’t have to record Glenn’s show to watch later.
That’s only kinky; cavity checks on Liberal court nominees would be a whokle differnt kettle of lutefisk.
Never know what you may or may not find...like not even the right number of cavities to search, or maybe an ‘extra’ one, nobody suspected...but, no matter what, you KNOW it will stink.
