Darwin-Only Advisors Hunker Down to Re-Strategize

June 12, 2009 — Strict Darwinian materialists are a minority in the United States, yet they enjoy autocracy in educational policy, complete control of scientific institutions, and nearly complete unquestioned support from the mainstream media. Nevertheless, they have to face living in a country that is predominantly religious. Once in awhile they suffer setbacks, like the recent changes in textbook policy in Texas that will require more scrutiny of the claims of evolution. What do they say amongst themselves when strategizing how to handle the public?...

Some of us may have ape DNA in our lineage. The people who have ape-like foreheads, ape-like noses, ape-like chins, or ape-like stances may have some ape in their DNA. Not all of us have ape DNA in our lineage.

“And do you use doctors and pharmaceuticals?”

The reason I go to doctors and use pharmaceuticals is because they have proven results. For anyone to say all science equates to empirical truth is nonsense. Global cooling of the 1960s, global warming, flat earth science, alchemy, blood letting were and are bad science.

p.s - nice to see you are responding to the subject matter of the thread now and not continuing with your personal attacks. So many of these threads break down into infantile behavior.

It is supposed to. What is it like, being your own god? Does it make up for your insecurities?

“That is code for AGW which is NOT real science. It is fad science”

Agreed, more specifically, it is the ‘science’ of Taxation and redistribution of wealth, we HOPE is a passing fad.

I didn’t attack you — I asked a question and undermined your position.

And so pharmaceuticals are magic — if you reject TToE, you reject the underlying science behind medications so all that is left is magic.

I have already made it clear AGW is fad science and has nothing to do with TToE any more than it has to do with physics.

I assume you don’t go to doctors or take prescription medicine.

Likewise, since evos reject the truth of the Bible, we can assume that they don't go to church or pray.

They're not teaching creationism or id in Texas schools.

This "changing in textbook" is semantics

Once again- real science produces real results. Pharmaceuticals have “proven” benefit and improve our quality of life. Some science, global warming for instance, are agenda driven, have no bearing to real science and may even have a negative impact on the quality of life. I am sure global warming scientists also have billions of data points.

why would a Strict Darwinian materialist be proud of the fact that he has no immaterial consciouseness, no immaterial faculty of reason, and no immaterial faculty of volition?

>>Once again- real science produces real results. Pharmaceuticals have “proven” benefit and improve our quality of life. <<

I am sorry, but science is not results-driven. You need to learn how science works and try again (hint: it begins with theories).

>>Some science, global warming for instance, are agenda driven, have no bearing to real science and may even have a negative impact on the quality of life. I am sure global warming scientists also have billions of data points.<<

They don’t have billions of distinct data points — they have hundreds or maybe thousands at most. Again, you need to learn how science works.

The fact I identify you do not understand science is not meant as a slam of any kind. It is exposed by your posts and is meant as suggesting you educate yourself. Posting from ignorance is never a good thing.

Half of the people in the US have an IQ below 100. Obama won the last election. Does that tell you anything?

If true, it is the death knell for the USA as a leader in science.

It's too late.

Creation was kicked out of schools years ago and evolution only is being taught and I have yet to see any evidence that that it has made any appreciable improvement in our ranking in science and math worldwide.

Blame creation all you will for our poor standing, but you'll have to figure out some way of explaining the progress science made in the history of this country and Europe during the time Christianity and creation flourished, and why, now that evo takes precedence, the test scores and our ranking keep circling the bowl.

For all the claims the evos make about how teaching creation is going to hurt science education in this country, I've yet to see ANY sources cited to support that position.

We need to see evidence, as in mountains of it.

Sorry, but using majoritarianism and populism is very un-conservative. With half the population having an IQ under 100 (and minority north of 140 who believe in creationist mythology), this is a very weak argument.

You're a good and intelligent person GGG, but on this one, you've lost me, FWIW.

Believe me brother - you have no idea how much I understand science. That is why I question agenda driven science that is taught as fact but not proven beyond theory.
