It was interesting that the Legionnaires in Olney today were ALL Army. I guess the other branches were letting the Army have their day in the sun. And sunny it was - a great day for the Army.
It is also FLAG DAY, 232 years old.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaires Cindy_True_Supporter (Vietnam Era), Dave (WWII), and [Mrs] T (Vietnam Era) BELOW RIGHT: Legionnaire Carl (WWII). He came a little late for the group pic.
BELOW LEFT: Dave and friend Janet. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill
BELOW: Lastly myself. That is the 7 of us on the corner this week. Moonbats had 8.
BELOW: And then there were these two patriotic trucks. The guy in the pick up truck is waving his flag out the window as he drives by.
Other pics of our supporters are BELOW, compliments of [Mrs] Ts fine picture taking expertise.

Maryland PING!
I was the first paratrooper 234 years ago...sufffered a scathing review in few stars but got more'n one stripe.
I was a visionary and said the skies are the limit....all we saw was Apaches and Blackhawks at the time...they had great smoke signals but their ( and our) flight plans consited of falling off a hore and reliving newtions laws of Gravity.
I was hoping for a HUGE bomb just to drop on our enemy, but that was AFTER a meal of buffalo and probably wild mushrooms, it was a cool vision tho.
Paul Revere was kind of a oaf which was why we just tol him to say," One if by Land, two when I get the pee scared out of me," but he blew it.( or so I was told by a CO when I was helping his to read a map amidst the biggest poison ivy patch on God's green earth.
We never had the luxury of c-rations....just like back then and forever the cooks were gods( as naploean would later say more eloquently).....my my how our Army has changedMore fun! Even grandpa, who became a full colonel( full bull) doing the ROTC in Berkeley Ca, was still learning strategies and tactics from a horse mount. As I grew I was amazed and Colonel Grampa sad sack teaching me to fire a rifle, hand gun and etc bare back( this was in the 20's through the 60's) and I continued to learn
Nevermind this is the battle Humn of the Republic
I'd joined the Navy in 1976. I wanted to be a SEAL( they were cutting back, so I joined Army ROTC. I wanted to be spec ops after fighting the bureaocracy I accepted a non comission and was sent to beautiful Fort Bragg,Benning..elsewhere graduating from OCS as a 1st Lt....from there we , my lil ole team of fine picked JSOC guys taught me what FUBAR, SNAFY, and clusterf*ck meant.
I saw two countries, Indonesia after the 250,000 dead( and still dying) ....some to this day is not discussed due to the secrets act, and there's good reason. Thirteen months there and the SD/ military "lost" us. All we had was a CIA handler and some fine auusie blokes helping us out of thangs....all that fun on gramps horse came in handy when bows and arrows, blow darts punju pits...gawd the ways to kill a person were as primitave and effective as they always were.
Later after a smaller stint in Colombia I left my fellow God given men( and two women). We got a few natives out or they'd be killed like so many others( in both Colombia and Indonesia). Currently I have a brother from the 82nd( staff sarge) on his fourth tour( 3 Afghanistan, I Iraq) and a 2nd cousin Navy SEAL 1st Lt ....somewhere) G'damn I am one proud old bat.....but I fear each and everyone of us, noww that what's her name told me, you and everyone who did their stint or became lifers are NOW pretty much considered terrorists....GOD BLESS Americ, land that I love!....
Celine Dion nevemind this is on an navy ship
Onward Christian Soldiers And for a small joke her'e's the movie of our mtley men:
GOD BLESS YOU NOW AND FOREVER
God bless the Army...God bless each and every one of you. I love yoy my brothers and sister, I really do!
Thanks for the great ping - Had me smiling the whole time reading it. Since there are few views this late after my post, next Olney AAR I was going to either link to your post or copy/paste it to the new one. I’ll probably link to your post since I would have to reestablish your links.
Again, thanks
[Mt] T
That is an honor and a half!. If you do link my post( fine with me, let all FReepers know I CAN “spiell”( like SNAFU) and other lil words. Always got me a good boot camp kid to teach me how to read a map, turn on a flash light, which side of the rifle to point, oooooh and how to use my p-38 regarding the opening of C-rats...heh, I would have starved had they not started dropping MRE’s( well I WAS pretty bad at times ha ha)
I was mainly coming over to spread the word about the September 12, 2009 DC Tea Party!! Yeeeeeeeeehaw!
Sorry for the late reply, but your post slipped below the screen before I could see it. That happens if I don’t check FR for a day or so.
p-38, I got some from my brothers and still have one around. Used to carry it on my key ring.
[Mr] T
You'll have to check out BufordP's fine directions in Post 1 of the Olney AARs. He even has Google pictures for those who can't follow directions or program a GPS. :-))
I'll link to your info in my next AAR
[Mr] T
No prbs [mr]T...gads my typing was horrid on that post. I’m really going to have to start proofreading. I’m glad you and a few oters got the point. Currently Fathers days and I’m helping a brother marine pull the engine from his El Camino.....may be a labor of love but the curse words are more colorful than ever! What a great day to be alive, to be able to still help, laugh and love, prayers and much more to you and all that have given way more than me,
