Big sounding story, but according to the fine print, we aren’t going to do anything.

Since when is a Destroyer a “massive” ship. They are used as life boats for Air Craft carriers.

It promised ‘100- or 1,000-fold’ retaliation if provoked.

If so,we could give them a 5 megaton retaliation.

“The resolution bans North Korea from exporting a wide range of weaponry - but does not allow the US to forcibly board the vessel.
Instead, they would have to ask for permission - which, in all likelihood, would not be granted. “
So...we ask to inspect the ship...NK refuses and then that’s it? Welcome to the Era of Useless Diplomacy..

At some point, the McCain will ask permission to board. If the NK's refuse.....then what?

I bet they (NK) will want to capture the McCain. They may try to grab it like they did the USS Pueblo, January 23, 1968... and Obama and “broken right wing” Clinton will let them!
Meanwhile ... SecDef Clinton calls her recent fall and and right elbow fracture more proof of the “vast, right wing, conspiracy”.

I believe this is the destroyer that had it’s towed array run over by the Chinese last month.
To: Steelfish
It may prove to be beneficial to have a ship in the area around July 4.

"McCain to cross aisle in bipartisan compromise"
I'll say this: It's nice to see something named "McCain" on the opposite side of a hostile alien confrontation for a change.

massive? a destroyer? they usually range from 5,000 - 7,000 tonnes. i guess it depends on your scale.
me... i still remember actually massive ships.... BATTLESHIPS (20,000 - 131,000 tons)

While I’m tempted to make a crack or two about the likely attributes of a ship named after John McCain, I won’t out of respect for her crew. They can’t help it their ship has such a crappy name.
