Imagine banning the media from an event when they've been so nice to her and her family and bent over backwards to be impartial! As for the "third party" musings, she's never said anything about that, it's the good ol' media again putting words in her mouth, although the way the RINOs are acting it's sounding better and better each time I hear it. This is coming from someone who was a Republican at 12 years old and worked to elect Jerry Ford (1976), Al Haig (1987), both Bushes and Fred Thompson (last year - I was in the service during most of President Reagan's terms and couldn't dabble in politics).

I don’t think she’s forming a 3rd party.

I believe her intent is to take over and make over the Republican party the way she did in Alaska. If she does, RINOs and the “log cabin” will be marginalized.

She has my support.

According to Harwood, it's not about Conservatism, but Palin's pursuit of "celebrity."

Idiots still don't get it...

I am sick of idiots in the media trying to spin their wishful thinking into news stories....and BTW, there was nothing bizarre about her news conference. But every MSM story calls it bizarre. It was a coherent well-thought out and delivered speech. But the media somehow twisted it into things that were not said. The media was in fact reporting that Palin was quitting politics, which is exactly the opposite of what she was saying.

The reality of Sarah Palin is that politics is a means to her higher goal: celebrity.

Coming from a guy who said we should vote for Obama????? Give me a break.

Good to sea os publications taking up the story. The poo-bahs we have probably read them, they certainly have no clue what’s going on in the US. Hope it causes a unexpected tingle in one of their appendages.

I would feel better if Sarah went independent and took her 50+ million supporters with her. How in the world can you clean up the Republican party? At any rate she is the only one speaking out on the issues in a manner that is raising the awareness that we need in the country right now.

Any talk of a third party is destructive and assures continued power for the RATS. Of course, they’re doing a pretty good job of making sure they have the whole country dependent on them and also making sure they remain in power through fraud. If those on our side want to help them—shame on them!!!!

Gerald Celente has predicted the rise of a third party that cannot be stopped, that will seriously challenge our two-headed one party system.

Politics and the world is nuts.

What will people truly do when 0bama calls on and implements global tax and order? I remember hearing a few states say they would break away if the U.N. took over as our government. Alaska was one state...

“bizarre press conference”

What was so “bizarre” about it? She said she would resign from the AK Governorship, and she gave her reasons why. The reasons make perfect sense in her circumstances.

Crystal clear.

Is that why it was “bizarre?” Are the media so used to spin that they can’t understand simple statements?

Agree. It isn’t a good idea, but strangely it is sounding better and better all the time.

Weren’t they recently on a “Listening tour” giving out a few pizza’s to get an audience or something? Aren’t we clear enough? Perhaps, in fact, they were just on a “selling tour”, selling themselves and their own big tent ideas.

Perhaps give the the GOP 6 or so mths to come to their senses.

I'm a conservative and, therefore, am not being represented by either of the two major political parties in this country at present.

My allegiance is to conservatism, not the Republican party -- period, end of sentence, end of story. If (as seems increasingly likely) there is only one principled conservative running for the Oval Office in 2012 -- and if that sole principled conservative just happens to be Sarah Palin -- then my vote will be cast accordingly, political party notwithstanding.

I imagine I'm not even remotely alone in having thus resolved, either. ;)

How funny... the only true conservative president and worthwhile candidate was the only one you never worked for.

Sarah talking to Republican women ! That IS the beginning of a NEW party. The Republican women along with pro life independents, a large portion of Libertarians and pro life D-RATS will fill the void left by the much awaited death of the RepublicCAIN party.

There will be 2 major parties after Sarah naturally evolves into a juggernaut new party... it certainly won't be a plan of hers... It will be a natural progression and It's happening at breathtaking speed...

Expect to see the new Palin Party (call it what you will) versus the Socialist/ DemoCRATS in 2012. The GOP will be part of the dust heap of history or, at the very best nothing but a minor player

As the Era of Obama now unfolds and bares itself to be the sham we knew it would be, my response to criticism about Palin is: “how’s that experiment with the community organizer working out for you?”

If she does, for a republican party that nominates John McCain and promotes Romney or Huckabee as potentials for 2012, I'm out of here.

Where Sarah leads, I'll follow. The vacuum of true conservative leadership in the republican party has left me with no choice.
