Here are two poll questions about Ted Kennedy the swimmer.
What is your overall feeling about Kennedy?
How important is Chappaquiddick to Kennedy's legacy?
(Aug. 26)
He looks bad already, but I sure would like to see him look a lot worse still. The guy deserves as much respect as he gave Mary Jo on that late night in 69 when he allowed her to die instead of trying to rescue her.
If obituaries were written based on Google Trends results, Chappaquiddick would be in the first paragraph of Sen. Ted Kennedy's obituary.
"Chappaquiddick" and other search terms related to the car accident on Martha's Vineyard that killed Mary Jo Kopechne account for four of the top 10 on the list as this is being written.
Sen. Ted Kennedy's car is pulled from the water at Chappaquiddick July 19, 1969. Mary Jo Kopechne's body was found in the back seat

However, we need to remember what Ted has done and I would like all polls to reflect our true opinion of him, after all we all must live with the consequences of having Ted spend over 40 years in Congress making laws that he himself never intended to live or die by.
In the future when I think Of Ted Kennedy, I would rather think of his true legacy.
Come to think of it he never stood in front of a jury of his piers...
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
What is your overall feeling about Kennedy?
Negative 70%
Positive 17%
Neutral 13%
Total Votes: 39,829
Note on Poll Results
He sold his soul to the Mafia(or somebody else) to get help with the Kopechne affair..
what? his last name wasn’t enough?
The comments after the article are pretty rough. No love for Chappaquiddick Fats there!
And yet, the media is covering his passing as though he was bigger in the minds of American's than Elvis and MJ combined.
Strange world we live in these days.
Freeped!
Make you wonder how he ever got re-elected all those years.
Bob Shrum can get out all the violins he wants - the younger generation had no reason to be enthralled by the Ted Kennedy that appeared in the past 30 years, and they have no memories of “Camelot”. You hear a few elderly folks in Massachusetts interviewed who have been consuming the Kennedy Kool-aid for years, but elsewhere, people saw him pretty objectively of late. And that’s not favorable to him.
But the biggest "learning moment" Kennedy's death has provided is the sheer number of people that either have never heard of Chappaquiddick or realized how the whole story was sanitized by a pro-Dem media and pro-Dem educational system.
Breaking the liberal mindset always starts in small ways and this revelation of how protected the Kennedy's were by the liberal establishment will jump start many political conversions.
Did you see that caption right by his picture near the poll?
Cancer Claims Liberal Lion
Shouldn’t that read Cancer Claims Liberal Lyin’?
From the article: “And so, as unpleasant as it may be, no review of Kennedy’s life is complete without a mention of Chappaquiddick’s part in his legacy.”
But yet you dingbats chose to put this question in your poll...idiot.
the Obama kids voted for obama not because he is a liberal and not even because he is black but because he was cool and hip. Obama is a slick polished celebrity while teddy was just some old fat white dorky guy.
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED UP FOR LEAVING KOPECHNE TO DIE.
Semper Fi,
Kelly
PS I could be wrong but Arlington appears to have lowered the standards to be buried there. I seem to remember that only those who had received a PH or CMOH were buried there.
Oh well...America has lowered her standards; so I am not surprised that Arlington has too.
