In the first half-hour of today's show, MSNBC Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough accused Fox News Channel and radio talk show host Glenn Beck of spreading hatred and whippping up raced-based assassination hysteria against Barack Obama, demanding Republicans renounce Beck.
Scarborough, a former conservative Republican congressman from Florida, attacked the libertarian Beck for spending the summer telling viewers there were FEMA detention camps being built and for saying that Obama hates "all white people."
Scarborough said the "hatred" Beck is spreading would make him responsible should Obama be assassinated. Though he didn't speak explicitly of Obama's assassination, it was clear what Scarborough meant.
Scarborough demanded that potential Republican presidential candidates denounce Beck, naming Mitt Romney in particular.
I don’t believe he’s ever going to get any. Have you ever listened to his show? About 5 minutes is all one can take. The other morning he was insulting Carrie Prejean in every rude way he could. It was intolerable. He has also ranted against anyone who dears to suggest that the One is not a legitimate prez. “Former conservative” is a good way to put it. Kristinn has that right.
Looks like Scarborough has drunk the Kool-Aid....

I’m sure “higher ups” speak to a lot of people. But even those people I doubt believe a MSNBC host who left office because a woman who worked for him was found dead in his office plan on sinking money into this guy for a presidential run. If his last name was Kennedy he could get away with that and have a career. As a republican, his political career is dead. Judging by his ratings, cable host isn’t working out so well either.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when he demanded that everyone look into Beck’s life and uncover everything about him? You DO know why he’s doing this don’t you? Because Beck came clean about his flawed life and we all have made mistakes and his followers love and understand this. The point is....Beck turned his life around which deserves FAR more laudible statements than delving into his past. I’m sure we all can imagine what Beck did - but he’s reformed. If Vick can play football again after unmercifully abusing animals - I think Beck can keep going. Alas...this guy can’t uncover anything on Beck to turn away his supporters - so let’s go after the polliticians. Hahahahahaha! Any politician that tackles Beck is out of their mind.

Remember he was the third (fourth) runner up when msnbc lost imus in the am. Joe can’t even carry the show himself he has to use a recycled sweater girl and a liberal de jour to be functional.

This will be great. People who have never watched Beck will wonder about this nutcase that Joe is talking about, they’ll watch to see what he is saying, and find he makes more sense than almost anyone out there. Also, as said above, he says he does NOT want violence, that would be the worst thing, and that he prays for President Obama and others, for their safety. We want to win this politically. Those watching will see that and know who is lying.

I heard part of Levins complaint last night, and part of Becks response this morning. I really like the analogy with Carter, who destroyed the liberal Democrats in his 4 years. Big government progressive McCain might have done the same thing for the Republicans.
In the short run, McCain would not have done exactly the same things as Obama. But in the long run, the frog would get boiled.

IF the RNC does anything even close to that, I will change my registration for voting.
i have been Republican since I was 21, and I am almost 70.
After changing my registration, I will do all I can to remove Steele.
Scarbough is just spouting off to the 2 or 3 people that are forced to watch him in the morning because their cable system package doesn’t have Fox News available.

I don’t buy that for one second. The RNC has more than its share of idiots, but they’re not THAT stupid. Do you have a source for the rumor?
