TGL has been following the devolution of political discourse into fear-mongering and apparent race-baiting since Van Jones, the former adviser to the Council on Environmental Quality, first got entangled in it.
Like many commentators, this blogger has felt that the level of disrespect shown for Obama, and indeed the office of the president, of late was fueled by racism.
At least as far as Rush Limbaugh goes, the nagging question has been answered. Limbaugh called for segregation of school buses in response to an incident in which a white boy was beaten up by two black boys.
Here's the chain of events: In one of probably hundreds of school bus incidents that day, a white student was roughed up punched by two black students while onlookers egged them on. Local law enforcement tentatively declared that the incident was racially motivated. The next day, national conservative blog the Drudge Report made the incident its top story.
The same day, the AP reported that law enforcement was now saying that race was not a factor in the fight. (The aggressors objected to the boy's choice of seats.)
The next day, Limbaugh discussed the incident, and even after a caller reminded him that the police were reporting that race was not a factor, said:
In Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, 'Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on.' I wonder if Obama's going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.
Frankly, it's hard to make sense of Limbaugh's rant, but in what appears to be a continued attempt by the right to redefine racism as blacks' alleged hatred of whites, with what appeared to be sarcasm,

Racism is discrimination on the basis of race. The skin colors of each party does not SHIELD the racist from the charge.
This whole argument about black people being incapable of BEING racists because they do not have the power to DO anything with that bias falls flat. Especially now that a black man holds the top office in the nation. What would it take to "exhibit" power?

That’s the key. They need a visual clue to know that it’s sarcasm or any form of wit that doesn’t involve bodily functions or the f-word. They hear talk radio as a continuous droning of facts (which is why lib talk radio bombs) because they are incapable of using language alone to tell sarcasm from fact.
It isn’t that they’re retarded. They are just trained to need visual clues to know what’s being said. It’s the Idiocracy (great movie!) in action.

The media typically gets their talking points from Soro’s Media Matters’ redacted passages of programs like The Rush Limbaugh Show.
Sarcasm doesn’t translate well to the printed page when there are lies of omission in the presented text.
That’s the rat game plan. Paint all opposition as racist then trot out amnesty for illegals. Add 17 million rat voters to the rolls in time for the 2010 elections.
But what the AP HAS tried to say regarding criticism of Obama is that IT IS racially motivated.
So, how is objecting to seat choice NOT racist, according to liberal logic? Why can't WE object to Obama's "seat choices" without being called racist??

Sorry, not going to bother with this one. At this point there is no point in reading either the S.F. Chronicle hit piece or the original Limbaugh text. I already know what I will find in both. The hit piece will make Limbaugh appear racist using selective, out of context quotes. The full text on Limbaugh’s website will reveal the supposedly racist rant to be just another demonstration of Limbaugh’s standard technique of “illustrating absurdity by being absurd.” Limbaugh is not a racist.
