>>Would we be talking about Beck’s rise if not for Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe? <<

Yes. The Van Jones Boycott was before the ACORN scandal.

To tell the truth it's a "number of demons dancing on the head of a pin" argument. McCain didn't have much of a chance, and at least 50% of that was his fault. Would he have pressed for a nutty "stimulus package" or had a better chance of getting health care "reform" passed ...or clamored for tax reform? Or would he have found another cliff to pull Republicans off of? We'll never know. The present situation is bad enough, although I doubt that a McCain presidency would even have been a breath of fresh air at best.

The real question to be arguing about isn't even who is going to challenge Obama. It's what big legislative measures a new Republican majority ought to tirelessly campaign for until it get passed, even if that means doing nothing else until 2012.

I myself toned town my criticism of McQueeg once he won the nomination.

I did too. I stopped posting my list of links about McCain apart from a few exceptions. What was the point after that?

That doesn’t make him any less of an ACORN/SEIU supporting Soros puppet.

The top three candidates (0bama, Hillary & McCain) were all supported by Soros. So, who really won the election?

One could argue that McCain came from behind to be the candidate for the Republican party only because he sang "Bomb Iran" to the tune of "Barbara Ann." The neocons saw someone who would continue American military adventures in the Middle East and threw all of their support behind him.

Although he was unquestionably a war hero, there was nothing about that him that made him qualified to be the president. That he had to bring on Sarah Palin as his running mate to get conservatives to vote for the ticket shows how weak a candidate he was.

I have listened to Mark since the beginning, when WABC was his only station. I miss the calls from the late Marty. I consider myself a Levinista. I have no hard feelings for Beck. I don’t listen to his radio show and catch his TV show occasionally. Beck has his own niche and does his job well. Beck has been exposed for lifting content and his fans should accept it for being called on it.

The internecine fighting has to stop about water over the bridge. Levine was no great fan of McCain and has talked about it on many occasions. We must unite and go forward to take back this country.

Katie Couric must be very happy that she has been able to expose a small rift in the conservative movement. As for whether McCain would be a worse president than Obama, I would respectfully disagree with Beck. I cannot think of anyone more destructive to core, founding American principles(except possibly FDR), However, this is a moot point so it serves no purpose to debate this if we want to advance the cause of conservatism. Likewise with the discussion of whether the conservative cause would be better or worse without a less striking counterpoint to conservatism such as Obama is also moot.
What we need to do is take over the Republican party. Our movement must act as the king makers for Republican candidates. Third parties have always fared poorly in American politics. We all know the story of the Bull Moose party which gave us one of Beck’s favorite progressives: Woodrow Wilson. We all remember Ross Perot’s gift of 8 years of Clinton.
You can’t build a winning major league team without a viable farm system. An independent or third party President would not be be supported by any party. Let’s learn from the Democrats. After all the uber leftists took over the Democrat party, right?
Come to think of it, perhaps, George Soros will covertly fund a right of center third party to ensure the one party totalitarian Democrat state.

Beck is a grandstander who has successfully reported some revealing things.

He is still wrong.

While I don’t care much for McCain and only supported him because of Sarah Palin and the real fear of Obama, if he had won the presidency our Troops would not be sitting in Afghanistan wondering whether or not the CIC gives a damn about them!

A pregressive president like McCain would have destroyed the conservative movement for decades. Something that Obama simply cannot do.

In fact as predicted, Obama has done nothing but strengthen the conservative movement! Although, believing this does not change the reality McCain would have made a better POTUS.

Your point however, is a valid beyond all doubt. Please I'm begging you, my fellow conservatives, no more rino's!!!!

Sorry, but Beck is making the common mistake of confusing his own self interest with the county’s interest.

Had McCain won:

1. There would have been less of a stimulus budget buster.

2. There would be no attempt at government takeover of health insurance nor health care.

3. There would have been truther czar for Beck to go after.

4. There would be no doubt that the US would stay the course in Afghanistan.

5. There would have been no attempt at a cap and trade tax increase during a recession.

6. The public would not have been as concerned with the ACORN tapes as ACORN would have been further from influence. Still I think this one because of the child sex slavery would have caught the eye of the American public.

7. Though he voted against them, McCain would be arguing not to raise taxes during a recession by letting the Bush tax rate cuts expire.

8. The latest Supreme Court Justice would not be Sotomayor though I admit McCain might have disappointed us still.

9. The NEA would not be pressuring artist to do project supportive of the administration.

10. Eastern Europe would still be getting its missle defense.

11. Our foreign policywould be more than an apology.

BTW, the tea party protester etc would all still exist. The potential of the American public has always been there. The American public arises when needed. Had McCain been elected, the potential would have still been there. Beck might not have been as famous. You might not have met your latest boy/girl friend at a tea party protest, but that is individual interest not interst of the US.

I like Levin. Don’t dislike Beck, but don’t prefer his “schtick”. Regardless, they have more in common than they disagree on.

I think this is just a matter of The Week following thay age old strategy of setting conservatives against conservatives.

I voted for Palin ~ have no love for McCain ~ the Ancient One would have been a much better president than Obama.

We just had another had another “familycide” in my county; husband kills wife, 2 kids, dog and self. I’ll give the Dems another stripe for that.

When will the media start the count on Obamacides?

I listen to Mark and I have only heard him opine about Hannity. So, it doesn’t surprise me that he finds fault with another conservative commentator. Sometimes it seems it just may be their ego that if suffering. I heard the the Glenn Beck response and I totally agree with it. Take a backseat Mark, Glenn is driving this bus.

The left are going after Beck, not Levin. That speaks volumes about who they view as a threat.

They attack Rush too. And Palin. They could care less about McCain.

First of all, regarding Afghanistan during the campaign McCain OPPOSED sending in more troops. In this respect, he was more of a peacenik than Obama. What makes you think that McCain would now flip flop on that issue?

Second, there would have been no ACORN tapes if McCain was in office. He would (without controvery) have continued the Bush policy of giving tax money to that group. Would Republicans object or fund investigations (even private ones)? Probably not the Republicans who never cared about ACORN when Bush was handing them our money!
