Just a thought....next week is Halloween, then comes Thanksgiving and Black Friday, after that Christmas; all which mean mingling, shopping, travel and cheer to Americans and our economy.

The H1N1 scare is a political disease that is attacking our economy and culture, first and foremost.

Yeah, he’s a piece of ‘something’ all right. But not work. Zero’s never done an honest day’s work in his entire life. And he’ll make sure that his lazy, entitlement-minded constituents get to sit on their bums from now on while we ‘newly poor’ whiteys (yeah, even Cherokee is considered whitey now...anything BUT black is whitey now) slave away to pay for all their freebies.

I’ve had it. It’s past time.....for the pitchforks. We need to think in terms of the Chicago-style resistance (if our opponents bring a knife to the fight, we’ll bring a gun).

The actual number of deaths due to regular flu is much, much less - DVDmom posted up thread the actual statistic kept by the CDC.

And if you subtract the number of deaths due to secondary bacterial infections (such as pneumonia), the number is A LOT less. The number of deaths due to seasonal influenza could be smaller still if autopsies were conducted -- many older patients are lumped into the group without definitive proof of death causation.

Oh...ok. Thanks for the correction.

I hate to ask this question, but....can we really trust the CDC to report accurately....now?

Doctors in our area are telling us that very few people are actually testing to H1N1.

My sister in Massachusetts brought my 3-year old niece to the doctors some weeks ago with flu-like symptoms. When she asked whether they had tested her for H1N1, they told her they weren't doing it any more.

We should ALWAYS be “stocked up”, more so for a teetering economy, natural disaster, terrorist attack THAN FOR A hyped H1N1 emergency.

However, with this guy you always have to ask ...

HOW DOES IT BENEFIT OBAMA?

Here are some Justifications that immediately come to mind:

1) Bolsters support for ObamaCare to save an overburdened medical industry.

2) Allows him to shift blame for a faltering Stimulus and 2010 economy on the H1N1 “Emergency.”

3) Support for another Stimulus.

4) Regulate “bank holidays”, as needed, to freeze foreclosures to his constituency, and control any Bank Runs by the general populace as the Dollar continues to tumble.

5) Socialize & seize any Industry or Commodities in the nation, as needed.

6) Place restrictions on that pesky part of the First Amendment allowing for the “right of the people peaceably to assemble.”

7) Restrict Communications (internet, cell phones, the Media, etc) as needed, to ensure there's not PANIC because of “false” rumors.

8) FORCE you and your family to get the H1N1 Vaccination, OR as an alternative, quarantine you in your home (away from your job, the grocery store, etc.)

9) Justifies a world currency & a loss of US sovereignty so we can “band together” to respond to this “global crisis.”

10) ANYTHING else that fits to justify his agenda!

Remember: they need FEAR to function.

Absolute not. They are operating on “global warming” settled science mentalities in all areas of science and medicine now. Science is what serves the state and only haters mention the lies.

"Wouldn't that suggest that seasonal flu vaccine should be made available with those over 65 as a priority? (seaonal flu vaccine shortage alert!)"

Exactly! My mother's lung doctor informed us that they weren't getting any more seasonal flu vaccine. In other words, doctors are not being given access to THAT vaccine. He advised her to get the flu shot anywhere she could and as soon as she could. Apparently outfits like drug stores and grocery stores that offer the vaccine have the most supply, vs. physicians, because they pre-order in bulk. The government is orchestrating this entire fiasco.

This is true. We don’t know because science is not a part of this “epidemic.”

Rahm Emanuel: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste..."

20,000 hospitalized out of 300+ MILLION people, and it's a 'national emergency'??

The national emergency declaration was the second of two steps needed to give Sebelius extraordinary powers during a crisis.

N-a-t-i-o-n-a-l-E-m-e-r-g-e-n-c-y...I guess that's how you spell 'power grab' now, eh??

They aren't even testing people any more for swine flu, how will they know it isn't the plain old regular 'seasonal' flu??

Tent cities quarantined from the rest of the 'uninfected'...removing citizens for the 'protection' of others who are unacceptable to Sebelius et al...scary!! [heads to amazon to up supply of tin foil...]

I don't want to sound cold, but it seems to me that about 36,000 people a year die in the US from regular flu and that seems to be an accepted number, sort of a shoulder shrug, oh well, nothing we can do.

Yet 1,000 dead in a country of 300,000,000 is such a statistical tsunami that it's imperative to declare a state of emergency?

UH, OK...

I know these are anecdotals but something’s not right here.

I trust anecdotals more than government statistics.

What is 'more dangerous is how inept the treatment is in most medical "treatment" billing shops.

Treatment is not cure.

Cure is not profitable.

http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/10/24/america-in-the-midst-of-two-major-national-emergencies/

“When the President formally declares a national emergency, he may seize property, organize and control the means of production, seize commodities, assign military forces abroad, institute martial law, seize and control all transportation and communication, regulate the operation of private enterprise, restrict travel and, in a variety of ways, control the lives of United States citizens,” writes Harold Relyea, a specialist in national government with the Congressional Research Service, an arm of the Library of Congress.

Did anyone here the senator mention the national guard while being interviewed on Fox when the story broke? I wish I had paid closer attention...

I know what you mean, jellybean! ;)

We have to be our own bosses on this stuff - either way - to use or not use antibiotics when prescribed. I always fill the prescriptions even if I do not plan to use them to stock up in case triage health care comes about and seniors are given pain pills instead of antibiotics for infections. Also, since I live in hurricane alley, I am always prepared for the flattening of civilization. With this flu, though, it is important to realize that in SOME people, the immune system response is haywire and it does open victims to secondary bacterial infections. MRSA is what is a staph infection called the "flesh eating" disease, by the way. We had a freeper's sister die from it as a result of the swine flu.
